As a woman (one of the few), and as an old one, I can tell you that this forum is not a place that you want to be, unless you go along with the herd. The mere fact that admin feels it is necessary to start this thread, should speak volumes. I actually could care less if anyone agrees with me or not. But, an opinion, (anyone's opinion) should be given some respect. There is a gang mentality, that appears as soon as someone dare to disagree with any of the so called knowledgeable posters. Right or wrongly, there is a feeling here, that if you aren't one of the chosen ones, you have to be either dumb, a casual fan, or not worth speaking to.

 

If this is a closed society, where only the sabr fanatics are welcome, that is fine, it is your club. But if you want it to grow, then you need to do things differently.

Baseball unlike any other sport has a subset of fans that may be the worst in sports..... and that is the hardcore saber guys. Not to say they aren't right about a lot... or most things baseball. But definitely some of the bitterest douche bags you'll see routing for any sports team.

 

I'll troll a comments section on say... ESPN... and say something like. "King Felix is good, but he doesn't win enough"..... and you should see the Venom spewing out of the nerds. You can't illicit anger like that from any other sport.

I answered his question sincerely initially,then i followed it with the "if your trolling" comment. Why is it you only cut and paste posters' comments that suits your damaging ways? Why do you always twist things like you do? I kind of feel bad for you,given your age and all. Your in for a rough ride in life with this type of attitude.

I took National Coaching Certification today and the prof is a former Canadian National Women's team coach. Me and a couple others got into a conversation with him and it turns out he also works for the Jays running the Super Clinics. Some guys started talking about the Trade and when I roll my eyes a bit he said "There isn't a GM in baseball that wouldn't have made the Marlins and Mets deals" He also said that everyone in that front office knows that the Jays have more talent than any team in baseball it's just a question of staying healthy, and that's why they didn't make any moves.

 

I'd rather get stuck in locked room with Gruber and the Goins Goins Gone crowd than have to listen to a 40 year baseball guy like him.
