John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 NOt sure if anyone is into NCAA basketball but Dayton is up 1 on Ohio State with 21 seconds left in the game.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 As of right now, Rogers has to be the favorite for the last SP spot. He just might be... He's on the team for sure, as BP/swing man at worst. And I'm good with that. I know it's not apopular opinion on here but I like him.

I like him better than Redmond if he can keep the walks to a minimum.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Now up by 1 with 7 seconds left... might be the first upset in the first completed game of the tourney
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Damn, there it is, Dayton(11) beats Ohio State(6) 60-59 Lots of brackets just busted.

fireballW Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Can we just put McGowan in the rotation please and hope Stroman is ready if his arm falls off. He's old enough now we might as well just throw him out there and stop babying him. Put him after MB and see how the teams deal with his stuff.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Goins gets on base again. He's amazing. Hire this man.
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 As of right now, Rogers has to be the favorite for the last SP spot. I've been touting Rogers as our "5th starter" all along. He makes the most sense to me, looked pretty good at times last year. If he gets a chance to start right away, he might settle into the role better and who knows what could happen.
fireballW Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I know Ive been tough on Walker lately.. but doesnt McGowan's windup delivery look really odd? Why is he so far off to the side , then almost throwing across his body?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Esmil Rogers done after 4.2 IP - 5 H, 1 BB, 6 Ks. Bleier in to pitch for the @BlueJays.
Brenner Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 My Projections for Jays rotation candidates: Dickey 3.64 ERA Hutchison 3.95 ERA Buehrle 3.95 ERA Morrow 3.95 ERA Redmond 4.12 ERA Rogers 4.20 ERA Happ 4.40 ERA Looks right but Hutch and Morrow have some upside potential.

He is better than Happ, he is cheaper than Happ, and doesn't seem to collapse under pressure. He has some bad starts and he's not a 200 IP workhorse, but I'd take him over Happ for a full season easily.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Kratz for mayor this guy is going to be our Yan Gomes this year
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Looks right but Hutch and Morrow have some upside potential. And I don't see MB posting an ERA under 4 this year
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Kratz for mayor this guy is going to be our Yan Gomes this year What did he do I'm back to work

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 McGowan 3 scoreless, H, 5 K's Like
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 What did he do I'm back to work jacked another opposite field dinger on a breaking ball
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Kratz for mayor this guy is going to be our Yan Gomes this year Can Kratz catch the Knuckle ball ?? How has he looked cause Navarro sure as hell can't . If Kratz is really good defensively then he may wind up as the #1 guy . Doubt he hits much but I have little faith in Dioner . I suspect he may just go back to the fat lazy bastard he was in Tampa and LA . lets face it he has only had a 1/2 season of decent ball in the last 5 years . As for Rogers vs Redmond meh I'll let the coaches decide who is best . Not sure what we can do with Happ other than try and fake a DL stint then send him for rehab and pray he improves .
flafson Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 http://www.breakingblue.ca/2014/03/20/the-case-for-kratz/ The Case for Kratz Good stuff, did you apply to AA yet? He could really use your help.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 jacked another opposite field dinger on a breaking ball Just like JP would have done
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 My Projections for Jays rotation candidates: Dickey 3.64 ERA Hutchison 3.95 ERA Buehrle 3.95 ERA Morrow 3.95 ERA Redmond 4.12 ERA Rogers 4.20 ERA Happ 4.40 ERA If they post ERAs like that, we make the postseason. I think these are optimistic projections on Buehrle, Morrow, and the rest. Hutch I can see totally surprising everyone, so that's believable, but I'd sign up for these because they are very solid.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 My Projections for Jays rotation candidates: Dickey 3.64 ERA Hutchison 3.95 ERA Buehrle 3.95 ERA Morrow 3.95 ERA Redmond 4.12 ERA Rogers 4.20 ERA Happ 4.40 ERA I think those are reachable I think you maybe low on MB but he is generally around 4 so could go anyway. Hutch I can totally see that.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 My Projections for Jays rotation candidates: Dickey 3.64 ERA Hutchison 3.95 ERA Buehrle 3.95 ERA Morrow 3.95 ERA Redmond 4.12 ERA Rogers 4.20 ERA Happ 4.40 ERA This greatly pleases me. IF we have no major injuries to the rotation and they post theses numbers, and IF we have no major injuries to the starting 9, we will make the post season. By major injuries, I mean longer than a 15 day DL stint.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 We may be lacking an ace, but if the rotation actually puts up those numbers we'll win a hell of a lot of games. Good showing today from Rogers and Dustin!
