Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Poor throw by Lowrie and a poor effort by Vogt
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Rodney just blew a save in LA on a Pujols 2B. 5-5 now. Please no more extra-inning games..
RIPEXPOS Verified Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Am I right in my thinking that the best thing to hope for is the second wildcard (I'm assuming one of Angels/Athletics get the first)? And am I right in thinking that our main competition for that second wildcard is the Mariners (I'm assuming the Yankees can't keep up with no Tanaka/Sabathia)?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Grant Green walks off.. Angels win 6-5. Jays now 1.5 back of 2nd wild card and 3 back of Baltimore.

Seattle doesn't have the offensive depth to stay in contention, especially considering they don't want to trade prospects and add $20M in payroll for a year of David Price, especially since they need to acquire multiple bats via trade if they're to stay relevant. King Felix and Iwakuma and the bullpen can't keep this up forever. Don't rule out the Indians either.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'd be flabbergasted if the Rays haven't surpassed the Jays by seasons-end Tampa has to play the rest of the AL East as well, plus there's no guarantee Price or Zobrist will still be on the team in 11 days.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 They will its only a matter of time. it's only a matter of time for you to make your next doomsday prediction about the jays? Perhaps seconds.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I have not given up on the Jays yet My belief has been severely tested but I refuse to give up all hope!
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 The 2nd wild card is too crowded with similar teams. I think the East is far more attainable since there are so many head to head games where with some luck (and we will need it) the Jays can control their own fate. But yes, the Mariners are flawed, and the Yankees are flawed and hurt. If Tampa and Boston can stay below .500, then the main challenge for that 2nd WC is Cleveland. It's up for grabs. However, I still think the East is far more attainable.

I have been kicked in the balls multiple times but i still believe. I would give my left nut to watch playoff baseball in Toronto.

Yep Angels are legit and will probably run away with the 1st WC Orioles can be beat I hope we have all guns back and blazing when we finally get that bunch of games against them. THOSE will be big important series'...
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Pujols and Trout fire back at Rodney I love it. I have nothing against Rodney's schtick in and of itself, but I love it when acts like his get shoved in his face like that. Drama and hilarity. Did anyone see him shoot the arrow into the Angel dugout after getting his team out of a 2-out, runner at 1st "jam" in bottom 8? Calhoun took him to the warning track in CF and he decided there was enough skin left on his teeth to showboat at the competition. Hilarious that he immediately gascanned in the ninth.
