Doing this over so we can start from #1 and go all the way up the list. And so it gets more attention on the main forum.

Toss up for me. I think Stroman is more of a sure thing and Sanchez has the chance to be very good.

I feel Stroman as well. And I no longer see it as 1a/1b either, I think Stroman is a clear #1 in our system right now, especially with all the praise he's received, it's made me feel a bit more confident about him. Maybe this will sound stupid some day when we look back, but right now he's definitely the one I'd least like moved.

Let's not forget Sanchez is 14 months younger, and was a rake just two yrs ago. He has been developing as a pitcher while filling out his body - harder to find consistency. I'm making a wild guess that Stroman has pretty much the same physique he had at 18.

Hard to compare the two, their path to the majors is so different.

Stroman.

We should weight the votes by a posters QUAL+. So you and I can give Stroman more weight.

then.......Mohyou vote is negative? - Would take away a point

Has to be Sanchez. I'm pulling for Stroman, but I think many people here need a history lesson. Betting on guys to break 100+ year trends is a foolish endeavor. Short pitchers with high effort deliveries do not and never have succeeded in the major leagues as starters. They are wild, homer prone, and extreme injury risks.

I'd go with Stroman since he could make an impact this season at the MLB level; whereas Sanchez despite the higher ceiling comes with more risk and is still a year or 2 away.

The question is who is top prospect. When its close between two guys, one with a higher ceiling and the other with higher floor.... top prospect should always go to the higher ceiling guy. My opinion anyway.

I think both sides of the argument are equally valid. The fact that we have two guys of their caliber who are so different is awesome! It's too bad we can't make it a 3 way race with Syndergaard.

Compiling a forum top 20. Vote for the #1 prospect.

We will move to #2 in a couple days, and so on.

Vote and discuss.

I think you should move to number 3 in a few days. The number 2 prospect is whoever doesn't get number 1 between Sanchez and Stroman. Number 3 is where the fun begins.

They came out of the question context.

Sanchez is the high ceiling guy

It wouldn't be a 3 way race. Syndergaard wins hands down.

The Sanchez/Stroman debate would just move to the #2 spot then.

Agree, even though Sanchez has the best stuff of all 3

That's what makes this an interesting debate. I think each opinion (Sanchez or Stroman as No. 1) are both valid. I slightly place more value on prospects who are closer to the Majors and who could contribute right away more than a prospect who's 2-3 years away. Sanchez has the higher ceiling no doubt; though since Stroman could step in at anytime this season and contribute I'd vote him since he has a higher floor and still could attain No. 2-3 starter status.

Agreed.

If the Jays still had d'Arnaud as well, would you place d''Arnaud as their No. 1 prospect or Synder?
