IMO Stroman doesn't even land you Samardzija. It takes Stroman and 1-2 other guys from our top-15. I actually really like Samardzija, but he just doesn't make any sense unless the FO is panicking in an effort to win in 2014 at all costs.

Yep. We trade for Samardzija it will be another gut job on the minors. I can see it now ,by the end of July,s trade deadline we will have the worst minor league system in baseball and an aging team with 1.5 years of control.

The reason the O,s are shopping Weiters is both He and Davis are Boras clients . They made two offers to Weiters to extend him and he like Davis will go the FA route.

 

There is no way I would trade for a Boras client as you know your not extending him .

Yea Jay. Nothing is happening but writers still need something so they print what they think are likely scenarios. If the hunting was decent I,d just do that but wolves and a hard winter have really screwed that up . Very few big deer and the Elk are thinned right out in my area. Don't be pedantic. The point was that AA hasn't stumbled across some market inefficiency here. No GM should strive to be the guy who is repeatedly willing to punt more of the future for immediate fixes than his peers.

Yep. Same goes for Scherzer. No one is going to trade a top 20 prospect for 1 year of him at 13-14M to have him walk to the highest bidder next December.

You just have to assume such players are going to turn in to draft picks if you trade for them or already have them.
