Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Cano, Ortiz, and Miguel Cabrera would be nice. Cano, Ortiz and Davis
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Heyman: "Three other players whose names haven't become public are believed on the suspension list as well." Who are they!? I'm very curious. Hopefully Cano lol. The guy who broke this story back in the off season (someone at a non baseball site) actually mentioned Cano as one of the violators. That would be hilarious.

That would be hilarious. That would be horrible. It would allow the Yankees to probably resign him at a discount. I'd rather they get another big long contract on their hands.

Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 (edited) Did you know there are these things called labour agreements, and you can't just make up penalties to suit your whim? True story, try educating yourself once in awhile. You can tell us all where it says that A-Rod can receive a lifetime ban and maybe you won't look like such an idiot. Listen, you damn clown, stop being an idiot. Its been reported for weeks that these suspensions are totally acceptable under the labour agreements in place. The commissioner had free reign to suspend at his discretion because the infractions having nothing to do with testing positive for PEDs. Try reading a newspaper sometime. So he got more then 200 games. Maybe you can direct me to the clause in the labour agreement that applies genius, since you so sure of yourself. Edited August 5, 2013 by Cooler Heads Prevail
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 the douche bag rule should be applied in both cases. both have cried fake tears in front of the media and both should be hung from the flag pole. they should be banned for life for flaunting it and then getting caught which would just be the league penalizing them for being retarded s*** bags. they should both get the same ban. Selig sucking a little more Steinbrenner dick before he retires. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I'm mistaken when I say A-rod: - Has admitted (to ESPN I believe) to using PEDs at least during the Rangers years - Never tested positive in an MLB drug testing case Not only has Braun threw out the idea of being on PEDs out of the window when he was caught with a drug test, he continually lied to fans and the rest of baseball. Two things A-Rod didn't. Once again, I hate A-Rod, but facts are facts. Braun should receive a lifetime ban, 2nd offence after refusing to admit the first time.

There has to be something different that he did or a very extensive history from the clinic of use throughout the mlb's drug testing years or something.

Yea I have no idea why they're going after A Rod so f***ing hard and let off Braun with a 60 gamer. Its almost like theyre going out of their way to relieve the Yanks of his salary so they can spend it on more players.

It's clear cut, Selig is bailing the Yankees out and trying to use A-Rod as a scapegoat. Most of the casual fans outside of the Yankee camp will be delighted of this banning for life for this 'scumbag', the Yankees get bailed and Selig is seen a 'hero' in the books for another successful job of cleaning house... looks like a victory for the MLB from my point of view. I don't buy that. If this whole mess has taught Selig anything, it's that stuff will eventually come out. If he was in fact playing favorites with the Yankees over this, it would eventually be discovered (possibly quickly) and tarnish his legacy that he seems to have worked so hard to create. I would think it would also be grounds for A-Rod to sue over, and he'd probably be successful. I really think there's more to it.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Here are two interesting parts regarding A-Rod (http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9540755/mlb-bans-13-including-alex-rodriguez-new-york-yankees-2014) MLB commissioner Bud Selig said in a statement that Rodriguez's punishment will begin Thursday and cover the rest of the 2013 regular season, the 2013 postseason and the 2014 regular season and was covered under the drug program's protocols and based on Rodriguez's "use and possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances, including testosterone and human growth hormone, over the course of multiple years." The Yankees have said they expected Rodriguez to be accused of recruiting other athletes for the clinic, attempting to obstruct MLB's investigation and not being truthful with MLB in the past when he discussed his relationship with Dr. Anthony Galea, who pleaded guilty two years ago to a federal charge of bringing unapproved drugs into the United States from Canada. That kind of supports that there was more to it.

championshipmoments Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Here is what I think is happening about this entire situation guys It is not about steroids. Mlb and bud selig have never proven that these players have ever taken steroids in any time during their career or before their career. Mlb also has no prove that a-rod has taken any steroids because he didnt.

championshipmoments Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 It is about not wanting other non white or latino players that have the potential to produce hall of fame careers to have good careers in mlb with out any allegations or contraversies along their path to being good players. MLB is afraid of these players and they will do anything to ruin them. A very good example of this is a rod. Unlike other players, since a rod has alot of money, he will try to dispute this because he knows that mlb is lying about all these players

I have a BMath with Honours from one of the best universities in the country. Surprise me. Listen, I go to the one of the best (if not the best) undergraduate business school's in Canada, but I don't go throwing that in people's face as a reason that my argument is better than someone else's, because the education system is a pretty big joke, and anyone who doesn't see that is probably a fool. At the very least, it is certainly no way to compare people's competencies. People choose to go to different school's for different reason's, and anyone would agree that the best student at Trent (or some other school with less history, is worth ten times as much as a slacker that barely passes at McGill) The fact that you use that to back up your point shows your insecurities, and the fact that you are probably full of it. Pretty soon I expect you are gonna say you are more manly then someone else because you have a bigger dick.
championshipmoments Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 MLB does not want latino nand black players in the hall of fame. That is why when they see any good latino/ black player that has the potential to produce hall of fame careers, they will ruin them. It is as simple as that. Bud Selig is curropt. He is a Jew. 70 percent of all mlb is run by jews and they dont wanna see any more latinos have 500 plus home run careers or close to 2000 rbi careers.
championshipmoments Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 A rod admitted he took steroids because he was forces to and if he hadnt he would have been shot Now if u all have a brain. Just think for a second. Why would a rod admit that he has taken steroids when has has never failed a drug test and when mlb doesnt have any prove that has taken steroids? because he was forces to by mlb to say this because they saw that a non white player like a rod can have more than 800 home runs in his career and they wanted to ruin his career just like that when he was in texas. First mlb uses these black/latino players to get money, and then they ruin them by falsely acusing them of steroids without any proof. in example, manny, bonds, sosa

That kind of supports that there was more to it. This forum gets real silly doesn't it ? Several people talking about everything else but the fact that the players cheated and were caught. Its about time they clamped down on these guys, the turning point is the majority of players are now openly supportive getting PEDs out of baseball. The speculations that everyone uses PEDs, that they are trying to support the Yankees, that ARod is being unfairly persecuted, ..., its all a load of bs. These players thought they could get away with their use and through a bit of a fluke the evidance got released. Caught. Most of the players know their best solution is simply take the penalty and move on. Anyone who truly believes ARod is anything less then a career user is kidding themselves.

Its funny actually that people think they can post all sorts of s*** about the stupidity of others, but resent when someone counters that with direct evidance that they are actually quite intelligent. And you are so WRONG about insecurities. Maybe when you are my age you will understand this. An insecure person will bow down to these kind of attacks. 96MPHFB----- Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 lol......... didn't you have it out with Boxcar before on the old board? You brought up education background then also, amirite? As someone with a "shiny" degree as well, education is only the start. A degree, if anything is proof of hard work and dedication at that stage of your life. You also need the means to afford the degree. It took hard work to achieve my degree and many hours of studying in the latter years. This is only the start of a journey. Many people with a degree amount to nothing. They do not possess the required skills needed for advancement. You can posses a high level of critical thinking, without a degree to back it up. Many of these types work their way up as they grow older into very successful positions. On the other front, I have seen many people with a piece of paper who assume they now know everything. These types fail to continue learning and fail to progress. My father has a higher paper degree than my mother (both in the programming field). While both are successful, my mother has achieved higher levels of success for this very reason. She is the type who spends each and every day learning something new and uses her critical thinking to apply it in her everyday life.

TRM Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 No surprised that someone still going to school would post this kind of opinion. Its funny actually that people think they can post all sorts of s*** about the stupidity of others, but resent when someone counters that with direct evidance that they are actually quite intelligent. 1. A smart person does not always create and formulate smart arguments. Even the smartest people are often wrong. From my (admittedly, not sure why you decided to attack my age) limited experience, the smartest people are actually the ones who acknowledge that they could be wrong, or are not afraid to admit they are wrong. 2. Some degree from the 80s (guessing based on your children) does not prove you to be smart. Neither does a degree from today. It's easy to cheat and grease ones way into, and through, nearly any program in this country. Conversely, smart people don't go to college for personal reasons, or because they can't afford it, all the time. Particularly nowadays, where information is available everywhere, one does not need to attend a college to be educated and enlightened. 3. What does the fact that I am in school still have to do with anything? I can still see when someone is being a pompous bully. And you are so WRONG about insecurities. Maybe when you are my age you will understand this. An insecure person will bow down to these kind of attacks. A secure person will defend themselves without reservation. The fact that you think you have lived life nearly enough to give me advice is kind of comical. Don't you think as a father of two young adults I don't have some insight into the world you live in now ? Conversely, the most insecure are the one's who bully, and particularly bully based on meaningless attributes, like appearance, wealth, or perhaps education. If you were secure and smart, you wouldn't feel the need to belittle Boxcar for being "uneducated", because you would be confident enough in your own view, and smart enough to see that attacking him on something so meaningless doesn't further your point at all, or help him to see your side of the argument. Additionally, I have less experience then you, but that doesn't make my experiences any less valuable. We also have different experiences, and I know things you certainly don't, while you know things I don't. btw I never stated my argument was better because of this ( you did, perhaps your reading comprehension is bad or you think I forced you to post ). What I opposed was the repeated attempts of BoxCar to paint a picture that I was stupid. You aren't doing a good job proving to anyone that you are in fact not stupid. In fact, you're posts have done a better job enforcing his statement. You attack my reading comprehension, but I comprehended it fine. You think you must know better on this subject and thus have a more valid because you have a shiny degree, and Boxy may or may not (who knows.) That seems ignorant to me, not smart.
