Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 And there's potential for more, in 2011 he had a 5 win season! The Angels desperately need him and were interested. They couldn't eclipse this offer? To Be honest though if Arizona wanted relief help what the heck was LAA going to offer them. Their Bullpen is in shambles right now.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Not even Dealbar. Loup... Thatcher is a loogy. That's like Loup and Chad Jenkins for Ian Kennedy. Lol AA. I guess he likes our overpaid, underperforming, high injury risk rotation better.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Delabar + Stilson for Kennedy, flip him for Kendrick if possible. Shoulda coulda, I woulda
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Jake Thompson He's the type of big bodied power FB pitcher AA loves. I guess Janssen for Thompson + could work but, still not that enticing.

They couldn't eclipse this offer? You know, in all my looking at Kennedy, I forgot to look at his ERA this year. We really need to look no further than this when trying to figure out why we didn't offer Delabar + Cecil (or something like that). Our inept FO doesn't know s*** about how to evaluate the quality of a pitcher. FO "Heat + low ERA = This is our guy"
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Not sure if posted yet, Trade talk is heating up "Thru day" - There's only 1.5 hrs left?
bzapple Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Damn, that's a steal. About time the Padres acquired a pitcher.
Slot Machine Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I'm pretty sure AA is only interested in starters that are a lock for less than 150 innings. That way all his sexy relievers see lots of action.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Lol why am I not surprised NONE of our RPs got moved? Losing more and more faith in this organization with each passing day.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Park is a bandbox. Turned Aaron Hill into an MVP Candidate. I don't care what the numbers say. Chase Field is the best ball park to hit in baseball. 13 of his 18 HR's given up have been on the road this year though. Last year it was almost an equal split and in his great 2011 season he was much better at home. A guy that gives up HR's and is an extreme fly ball guy (8th worst GB/FB this year) would probably be really bad at Rogers but when the cost is nothing and the guy he's replacing is garbage...probably worth it.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Pitcher A rest of season ZIPS: 4.06 FIP, 0.7 WAR, 7.93 K/9, 2.81 BB/9, 1.15 HR/9 Pitcher B rest of season ZIPS: 3.90 FIP, 0.8 WAR, 7.98 K/9, 2.10 BB/9, 1.26 HR/9 Name the pitchers
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Its awesome that our GM is blinded by ERA. Cecil, Pillar, and Carreno probably lands Kennedy. that package kills the Padres package IMO
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Its awesome that our GM is blinded by ERA. Cecil, Pillar, and Carreno probably lands Kennedy. Kennedy has a career xfip of 4.1 and is a fly ball pitcher. I'm not convinced he'd be much of an improvement for us. I'd be okay with it if we flipped him, but otherwise I don't see much point.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Without looking: 1. JJ 2. Kennedy A - Kennedy B - Peavy
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 idiotic when texas will apparently overpay for a bat in decline

Clojojo Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 if we dont trade our relivers i have no f***ing hope left for this mess no way to defend this s*** i want rogers agents to leave

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Heard #Reds are trying for #Giants Javier Lopez Cecil + Rajai for Cingranni
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 So...AA wants to go all in next year. We're gonna need a couple pitchers, 2B, C, LF and a bench. He's just passed on a reasonable SP for basically nothing in return.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 I guess we need that 10-man pen next year with Carreno/Wagner rotting in AAA cuz we need dem relieverz to win da WS
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Perhaps AA thinks we need to hold onto our paper thin pen for next season; Janssen, Delabar, Cecil, Loup, McGowan, Santos, Perez, Perez, Wagner, Lincoln, Carreno, Stilson and Rogers.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Perhaps AA thinks we need to hold onto our paper thin pen for next season; Janssen, Delabar, Cecil, Loup, McGowan, Santos, Perez, Perez, Wagner, Lincoln, Carreno, Stilson and Rogers. LOL wth, poor Lincoln doesn't even belong in AAA
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 It will be unbelievable if AA does nothing here. Oliver, Davis, and Janssen should all be moved. Relievers seem to be a hotter commodity this year and we got some good ones. I wish I knew what his infatuation with a bullpen is.

It's not only the number of pen arms, its how do they even retain all these bodies? Will start losing assets to the waiver wire before long
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Do something you fat f***. You'd think this year he's learned that relievers aren't that valuable, since his team has a crazy good pen and a .462 win%. Red Sox - Worst bullpen first place Jays - Best bullpen last place
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 LOL wth, poor Lincoln doesn't even belong in AAA If he doesn't make some deals either now or in the winter, were going to have like 4 - 6 guys out of that group starting in the minors next season.
