jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 #RaiseTheBar I think the Jays move Oliver more than anyone. If Cecil and Delabar bring in a good return, than I have no objection moving them.

My comment was to point out that Jim Leyland didn't pick Delebar for the all-star team. But to your point, I'd move anyone (or everyone) in our pen (or most places on our roster) for a good return right now.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The only available Tigers' asset I am interested in is Castellanos. If a reliever + could get that done I'd part with anyone from the pen.

Tigers won't trade Castellanos for a reliever + a mid tier prospect.

It would have to be for a lot more and the Tigers don't have many young assets to move. We're talking a huge Scherzer + Castellanos for Bautista + Janssen type humongous big deal.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 f*** off John! "Look, our players are injured and terrible, only a complete idiot of a GM would want to trade for any of these *******s!" - Gibbons

FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Gibbons should be fired for this tread deadline performance. Either beef up your assets or shut your f***ing mouth. This is the same clown who IIRC was downplaying the winning streak and trying to predict its end while it was in progress. Of course he's going to s*** on all our players right before the deadline. It's not hard to see why nobody wants to play for him (as evident from how he's literally been in fistfights with our players before).
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Thatcher + Matt Stites + NonGuy <<<<<< Janssen/Delabar/Santos + Stilson + NonGuy
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Boooooooring Worst Trade deadline day EVER

imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I will take Ian Kennedy. Too Late The Padres have bolstered their rotation for the present and future, acquiring righty Ian Kennedy from the division rival Diamondbacks for lefty reliever Joe Thatcher, Double-A reliever Matt Stites, and a compensation round B draft pick, according to a tweet from MLB.com's Corey Brock. It's a surprisingly light haul for Kennedy, a 28-year-old who is under team control through 2015 as an arbitration eligible player. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
Nox Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 We could really use Kennedy! I don't understand these underpays, very confusing. Kennedy's a decent starter. No kidding. He's a league average starter. Since when is 2 years of that (at arb rates) only worth a god damned reliever and a non asset (minor league reliever)?
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Well, at least Kennedy to San Diego helps my Premier League team.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 We could really use Kennedy! I don't understand these underpays, very confusing. Kennedy's a decent starter. High ERA
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Thatcher + Matt Stites + NonGuy <<<<<< Janssen/Delabar/Santos + Stilson + NonGuy I don't really want Kennedy unless we were to flip him. However, that haul seems criminally light for the Dbacks. I will say that Stites is putting up incredibly impressive numbers in the minors though for someone who seems to not be much of a prospect.

That's basically Delabar + Stilson/Carreno/Wagner for an established pitcher.
Nox Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 High ERA You know, in all my looking at Kennedy, I forgot to look at his ERA this year. We really need to look no further than this when trying to figure out why we didn't offer Delabar + Cecil (or something like that).
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 What the f*** is AA doing. You're telling me nobody could beat that offer and that they actually traded within the division. Well the rest of the league didn't bother to beat that offer, so you know the rest of the league think Kennedy is overrated.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 We could really use Kennedy! I don't understand these underpays, very confusing. Kennedy's a decent starter. 3 wins, 5.23 ERA http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mba5psXab41r4t7nto1_250.gif
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 that trade is going to look even worse as I'm sure he'll put up really good numbers in San Diego. The D-Backs are huge on character and I've heard that Kennedy doesn't fit in there...someone was going to rob them blind.
