admin Site Manager Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 So what happend to this? I wonder if the leak pushed back the timeline. I want this over and dobe with. But I guess if 20+ players are suspended it would take over the season. I don't think they meant immediately following. I think it could be over the next week or two. I wonder if they did this at the beginning of the year, if Arod could have come back from injury, and took a good chunk of his suspension, even though he couldn't play anyways. I guess he could, technically.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Additional Names Coming In Biogenesis Scandal Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that there are still many unreleased names in the ongoing Biogenesis scandal, and that the mystery surrounding the identity of these players will likely be a story throughout the season's second half. None of the unreleased players are believed to be big names or superstars, according to Passan, but that doesn't mean that the unknown names aren't significant. Any pending free agents, extension candidates or trade candidates could have their stock significantly altered by a connection to Biogenesis. Passan adds that Major League Baseball has not yet finished interviewing players connected to the clinic, and as a result, any hopes for an expedited process appear unlikely. Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun, Nelson Cruz, Everth Cabrera, Bartolo Colon and Jhonny Peralta are just some of the notable Major League players connected to the clinic thus far, and suspensions are sounding like an inevitable outcome. The date and length of those suspensions has yet to be determined, however.

Or just a guy like, say, Aaron Hill The bat speed and incredible hand eye coordination are undeniable. Again, Barry Bonds was still the best player of his time juicing or not. The skillset was undeniable.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Is anyone else convinced that A-Rod isn't actually injured and that the Yankees are keeping him out of games until he can be suspended? There seems to be a conspiracy going on here. yah i was thinkking that to. the day before hes to come back to the bigs his quad gets injured lol...but at the same time arod was talki g to media/social media even when cashman straight up told him to shut the f*** up in those exact words, so cant see arod faking an injury at the same time just for theyanks.

flafson Verified Member Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Mottola can do wonders when he's working 1 on 1 with players to be honest, not sure why we don't have a private Mottola for each player, much cheaper than trading or buying free agents.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I still think the team should pay salaries during suspensions. It should just be donated somewhere. It's a teams job to do a thorough background check on players. I really don't know how you can hide PED's in professional sports. I know whose on drugs just going to my gym everyday. I would prefer that teams could simply break a contract if players are caught and players pay a hefty fine in addition to a significant suspension (at least a season). Either make it strict enough that it stops players from doing this or just allow it to continue and look the other way. This s*** is just ruining the game.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 That would mean the Yankees could break A-Roid's contract. And nobody wants that because it frees up 25 million a season they can spend. They could bring in an ace and at least 2 good position players for that. So what? The player should be punished not the team. Team should have the choice if they want to break the contract or not.
8D Verified Member Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I wonder what Conte will say about this. I remember him saying a while ago on the JRE, how MLB only is allowed to test like 30% of players, and it surprisingly only tests like >5% of players each year. And you're only allowed to be tested twice in a calender year, and one of those tests is always during the beginning of ST. And most just juice to the gills after their second test or and before the ST test.
