eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Post in this thread if you agree with DFA'ing this sack of s***. Might be the only way to wipe that stupid smile off of his fat face. What is the tipping point, -2 WAR? -3? He's one of the least skilled ballplayers in baseball without question.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 He's supposed to be a small-ball type of guy who can play multiple positions 1.) He's probably the worst bunter I have ever seen. He can barely even make contact with that stupid little chop thing that he does 2.) He is below average at literally every position he plays. Terrible arm and an iron glove Yet Gibbons continues to use him as a pinch hitter in crucial situations and plays him frequently. One of the worst baseball players I have ever seen.
bzapple Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Terrible defense, no power, worse OBP than JPA...yeah, I wouldn't miss him.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 3.6% walk rate .204/.234/.308 Some of the worst D you will ever see BETTER PLAY HIM EVERYDAY

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 So another game lost because of the incompetence of this f***ing loser. This is mind blowing.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Most definitely NOT in favor of this. If you can get a decent return for him (and apparently there were a few gm's drooling over him in the offseason), I'm okay with trading him. DFA'ing him, absolutely not.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 He shouldn't even be on the roster let alone playing over Kawasaki. Gibbons doesn't much care for defense it seems, I don't think the pitchers appreciate this.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 so many liked him in the off season. There were a bunch of threads like this. http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?nav=messages&webtag=ml-bluejays&tid=87239
Nox Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Marlins deal doesn't go down without him.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Might as well, he is a joke and I doubt at this point he has any value.

Frag Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Watch Dwayne Murphy turn him into a 40 HR hitter! #FalseHope
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I get the feeling that this comment buys Bonifacio a significant amount of time. It would if I was the GM and said something so stupid about such a marginal player. lol one of greater quotes from the AA era, when he claimed he wouldn't do the Marlins trade without the inclusion of Bonifacio.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Just a f***ing terrible hitter. And somehow, a worse defender.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6mcdqscBV3k/UWyhx1OhCDI/AAAAAAAAF8A/f65tvLUGv-I/s1600/Bow-Loviste.gif Chill out bros Boni's annoying smug demeanor is so much more irritating than JPA's misplaced arrogance IMO
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 The hate. It runs through me. Not even Kawasaki's off the charts adorable personality can salvage that GIF
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I have a bigger issue with management and the coaching staff for tolerating Bonifacio than I do with him and same goes with JPA
bzapple Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I know this isn't the "Find minor positives about Emilio Bonifacio" thread, but I really have no problem with Boni's personality. Seems like a genuinely likeable guy and a good teammate. He's just a terrible baseball player.

You don't have an issue with awful players saying "look at me" every time they hit a chopper through a hole? That kin of embarrasses me as a fan tbh.

It's like that ridiculous bow and arrow thing that the Rays are always doing.
8D Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I liked Bonifacio when he came over in the trade and thought he has potential. I still think he does, but he's been brutal this season. I think he needs a new swing and a lot more reps defensively at any position in the minors. I just don't think AA wants to let go of him yet, because he'll probably have to trade him once he gets claimed through DFA.
8D Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 For me, if I decided this is no longer a contending year (which I think it is), then I wouldn't mind him on the team to try and develop him for next season. If you still think Jays are in contending mode then he probably should be DFA'd pretty damn soon.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 One half of the team is trying to keep the team afloat (Bautista, Eddy, Lind, Reyes, Rogers, Buehrle, Rasmus and the bullpen) and the rest is sinking them. AA has done a lot of stupid things and has a case of bad luck (Johnson, Morrow, Lawrie and Dickey). I think they finish around .500 and AA comes back. Strange f***ing year
