Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 I think whatever Nick Nurse is being paid, it isn't enough. I am a little concerned about FVV running the offense so far. It hasn't been as smooth as I'd like to see, especially when they're not on the run. That might improve a bit when we get Pascal back though. I heard he's back within the next 2 weeks.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Man the raptors are way better than I expected.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Svi looks like he's another solid pickup (from nowhere)
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 I'm cautiously optimistic about my bets, but still a long way to go. Especially since you numbskulls are starting to warm up to the team, preparing them for an 8 game skid. Best road record in the league, 4-0. This is what this team thrives on, steady defensive basketball on the road. Still, a good regular season team that likely sees a first round exit. For a rebuild that's pretty good. Barnes up to #2 on the betting board for ROY, +400.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Could be the first time in years where the East is actually better than the West. Assuming the Wizards and Raptors aren't a mirage, plus the Bulls and Knicks no longer stink. Only three really bad teams in the East. The Celtics could end up missing the playoffs if they aren't careful.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Damn dude, 50 wins is nuts Raptors are a pretty bad team this year. I can very easily see them being under 37 wins. They cant score. I placed my bets. Over 36.5 wins and for the Raptors to make the playoffs. We'll see who is right me or the naysayers. This team isn't in tank mode it has a lot of good young players. Just no one great. That's a recipe for a .500+ season and 6-8th seed in the east. Man the raptors are way better than I expected. Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Man the raptors are way better than I expected. Hot start. They've got some nice young raw pieces but young teams are wildly inconsistent and volatile. I'm expecting slumps along the way. My hope for this season is for them to work on developing good habits, build a strong defensive presence (which they seem to be), and chemistry. As long as we're seeing the great effort and small incremental improvements I'll be happy. I'm not really worried about the wins and losses this season
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Just got a msg from a friend, he scored some free tix to the game and invited me, section 100. f*** yeah!
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Raptors aren't THAT young. Their top players all have four or more years under their belt except Barnes and Achiuwa and several already have rings from 2019. It's actually a nice mix between young veterans and rookies.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Lebron suddenly isn’t looking like basketball’s Brady. I actually thought with all the $1.5m/yr spent on his body, he had a shot to at least get to 40 strong

Yeah it's a nice mix. They just don't have that one guy that can take over a game but the way they function as a unit is pretty impressive given some very inexperienced players getting big minutes. It's pretty encouraging that once the foundation is laid again, we know Masai will find a way to bring in the finishing touches.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Only following the box score but I just can’t peg Jason Tatum. Dude can get to the rack as good as anyone. He’s so inefficient though

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 How can you continuously, fall face flat on everything? Following boxscores and Gameday s*** leads u to dis! Well, I have Brown and Tatum on my fantasy keeper team and I usually watch their games when they’re on nationally. I don’t have the NBA pass. I’m actually just parroting what the talking heads are saying anyway. Tatum just isn’t taking that next step. Settles on bad shots too much.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Seems like a little bit of a ref show going on here.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Wow. Stewart was PISSED at Lebron. He's getting a lengthy suspension for that. Huh. Lebron got tossed too. Maybe he had cause to be pissed.

Maybe he had cause to be pissed. It was an elbow to the face. Gambling based question for everyone. Noticed a lot of road wins early. Now that I quickly look at the home road splits things are back to similar to past seasons. Are the fouls slowly reverting back to normal? There is only so much I can gather from just reading the stats, and watching a game a week.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 MEM is beating OKC by 74 !!! points right now in the 4th
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Memphis had 9 players in double digit scoring. The 10th had 9 points.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Barnes is draining a ton of 3's over the past 4-5 games. Very encouraging.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) So, are the Raps going to lose to OKC at home? Ouch! Edited December 9, 2021 by Spanky99
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Raptors are over .500 Woohoo!
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Raptors are over .500 Woohoo! Yay for my bets.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 Raptors are 11.5 point favourites against Utah tonight. I'm going to take a stab without doing any reading up on the situation that their entire team is out with COVID lol. Guess this and the Bucks game makes up for the couple games the Raptors were screwed.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Wow man... FVV!!! Fred absolutely took the game over!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Raptors are making the playoffs, folks.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 I'm really pleasantly surprised how well the Raps are playing. I thought this would be another transition/building season and they'd probably be picking Top 10. We all know Nurse is a great coach, but even I'm impressed how quickly he's been able to get this group to buy in. Just making the playoffs would be a huge win on its own for this team.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
