The rest of the league handles minute distribution and player minutes in general very carefully.

Nick Nurse on the other hand just plays everyone he likes 40 minutes a night, even players in their 30's playing their first game in weeks. He's probably done managing loads after last season.

First off, it's Lowry's first game back after a thumb injury. Let's give the guy a longer leash than one game. Second, like it or not, Lowry is the Raptors' Joe Carter. He's going to get that longer leash even if Nurse knows he shouldn't. It's NBA culture too. How many years were the Lakers set back playing a past-prime Bryant? This is not Nurse being stupid. It will be a challenge for him to balance what he knows he should do based on the stats he sees and the egos of fragile millionaire human beings and team chemistry.

Amazing it only takes one loss to bring back the whiners. 15-5. Raptors could go exactly .500 the rest of the way and fall in line with pre-season expectations.

To say that Lowry is the Raptors' version of Joe Carter is a serious slight to him. Lowry is still an excellent player, he was playing really well before injured and he'll likely get back to a similar level as before. He was still making Lowry like plays in every respect except his shooting, including drawing key fouls when no one else could buy a basket. He'll get back into rhythm and the shots will start falling again, like you I have no issue with Nurse continuing to play him yesterday despite his horrible shooting woes. He's probably still our second best player, and we need Lowry to get back to his usual level if we're to continue making noise this season.

Demar Derozan was the Raptors' Joe Carter. A sports franchise can only have one Joe Carter.

Kyle Lowry is the Raptors' Jose Bautista.

I meant more from a psychological, veteran presence point of view. Plus we shall see in a year from now how well my comment ages.

DeRozan is more like the Raptors Vernon Wells. I cannot believe you did not see that parallel first. The Bautista comparison to Lowry is pretty apt.

Would Ujiri actually bolt for the Knicks or is this just high hopes on their part?

The Knicks' biggest problem starts at the very top, I don't think he would be interested in being in such a dysfunctional organization.

Ujiri to the Knicks is an old rumor. I think he will leave in the next couple of seasons but it won't be to the Knicks.

If the Raps can take their defense at the end of the game into tomorrow, they're going to give people nightmares. Too bad they didn't play like that for the other 40 minutes.

AD and Lebron have combined for 82 points tonight...

They’re so fun to watch. They’re really clicking on all cylinders. Considering both sides of the ball, I think AD is the best in the game right now.

FFS. You have to call obvious fouls like that, especially when it results in a loss of possession.

Crazy, the non-call almost cost them the W.

No one wants to work for James Dolan.

I think Masai could leave, but if he does, it will probably be for something related to the Giants of Africa, and not another NBA gig. He's already accomplished what he sought out to do in Toronto. Wouldn't surprise me if he will look for another challenge soon.

How good is OG defensively? This man is on another level.

OG in general has been great, but yeah his defensive chops are incredible. He really is like a mini Kawhi.
