He always seems to be in the right spots and can get out to switch on the guards. I'd start him over Bebe ( who has to be one of the worst 7 foot rebounders I've ever seen)

Yeah, Bebe just doesn't have the strength inside to rebound (some technique problems too). He sure gives people fits when they try to shoot over him though.

Love watching this Raps team. Has to be one of the best defensive teams in their franchise history.

If Wright and OG can develop a jumpshot they have some serious upside as they are already stars on the defensive end.

Is Bruno just 100% a bust?

Nah, according to his draft time line he was 2 years away from being 2 years away... so the start of this season puts him at 1 year away.

Powell is a disaster right now.

Played a really good 2nd half and his D made McCollum a non-factor. Yeah he's struggling with scoring, but not on D.

I can't see him being tendered a contract next year. Hard to call him a bust anyway when so many players taken after 20 don't play more than a few years in the NBA.

Most players show some promise though. Bruno looks like a single A player

Funny we all hate on Derozan but if he can keep up this shot selection and hit the 3 at 31% he's a pretty damn good player.

That's a bit harsh, I'd say he has a couple of serious haters, a lot of people who think he's decent/pretty good but needs to improve to earn his worth, and others who believe he's a good player who has played in the wrong system for too long.

I also think he's a really underrated passer.

More of his mid range shots seem to be in the 15-20 foot range and not 1 foot in front of the 3 point line which a good sign. He was pretty awful at the end of the SA and GSW games which is his memo though, struggling against good teams when the game is on the line.

Too bad he's being paid like an elite franchise player.... which he isn't.

The problem with Derozan is that his strengths are what the NBA was 15 years ago. Long developing plays with a shot taken with 5 seconds or less on the clock from mid range, which is the least efficient way to score in the NBA. He can't handle the ball well in ISO, and can't shoot the 3 anywhere near well enough to be a shooting guard. He does pass well enough though so that when he gets keyed on he can move it away.

He's a great scorer because of volume of shots and the free throw line, not because he's a particularly great player.

Raps could trade him and get good value back so I won't call that a bad contract. If he can maintain 90% of how good he has been to start the season that'll do. His defense has actually been a lot better too, now I'm not sure if that's sustainable but perhaps playing him less min. helps him be better at that end of the floor.

His defense will never be a plus though, hes not a black hole anymore, but that never going to be a real part of his game.

He's a pure 1 dimensional scorer at the most inefficient type of shot and that's just not a guy that you can build a championship team around IMO

DeRozan isn't a central building block, but as a complimentary piece, you bet he's valuable.

And yet what is he being asked to be in Toronto?

The central building block franchise player.

Browsing youtube and came along this. Still one of those worst sequence of calls I've ever seen live

I'm sure every fanbase in the NBA thinks they get the worst calls but f*** me if the Raptors don't actually get the worst calls.

I understand that. But it's not his fault that we don't have the talent here for him to be that 2nd or 3rd piece.

I agree, but that doesn't let him off the hook when it comes to what he is as a player in today's NBA. He's not the superstar that the media hypes him as, and as long as he is counted on to be the man, this team won't be winning a championship unless he dractically changes his game, which at this point in his career is highly unlikely

I think of all the contracts on the Raps Ibaka's is the worst. He's shot really well so far this year but he's lost a ton of speed/athleticism. There's no way he's only 28 years old.

3/65 is hardly a bad contract for guy like him. With all the money in the NBA these days that's pretty much market rate.
