John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Meh I don't think so, Derozan's had a few but I wouldn't call it ISO ball. Raps have missed a ton of open looks from 3. Knock down a few of them and the game is pretty different. True, but in the 2nd half, the majority of those looks are deep in the shot clock after standing around for 23 seconds. That's not supposed to be the game plan. Quick shots, pushing the tempo and moving the ball.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Bebe and Ibaka do some great things but they are both terrible rebounders. Not really a lack of effort just SAS is way better rebounding.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Lowry's had a bad night
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 And Derozan keeps turning it over whenever he tries to dribble....he just doesn't learn.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Aldridge has to go, Ibaka shouldn't. ... but probably will.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Yet another Derozan turnover on the dribble. ..Popovich is laughing himself to death at this. Literally the worst option to handle the ball and the Raps are giving it to him every time. Shoot, Powell had a great look there and just missed by a hair
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Powell has to make those..
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Poetll has been our best player all night and he's glued to the bench. I'll never stop calling for Casey to go
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Powell has to make those.. There's been a lot of wide open misses tonight. Still really happy with how we've played overall.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 That's actually a good question just posed by Jack Armstrong... are there enough shooters(assume he means from 3 point range) on the Raptors? Lowry, Ibaka and Miles for sure, DeRozan sucks from there, Powell is decent. Van Vleet is inconsistent and probably won't see enough minutes to really matter, Wright isnt great. Pretty good point for a team that's relying heavily on the 3 ball.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 and now they just watch the spurs dribble the ball around.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Good effort, but some very bad decision making during critical stretches. Ah well, off to GS to get blown out.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Well 3 point misses and being out boarded was the reason they lost. Not too worried as those shots will start falling.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 This was a very winnable game that was lost due to missing tons of open looks and awful defensive rebounding, the latter likely a result of not having our best rebounder. Poeltl was stellar.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Overall I'm satisfied despite the underwhelming loss. The ball movement was still quite excellent and the defense did a great job all night save for a few plays where they got Spurs'd. More times than not they make a few more threes and this is an easy win.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Giannis Antetokounmpo with another ridiculous performance. 32/14/6 with 2 blocks and a steal on 13/21 efficiency. That guy really is a freak.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Raps playing very well to have the game this close. Derozan needs to be yelled at though. After playing great he's forcing terrible shots.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 The second unit is simply amazing. Poeltl was superb again, Delon was great, OG too, Pascal out of nowhere was a star lol.
43211234 Verified Member Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 What a pathetic collapse. You would think after a certain number of years DeRozan would realize how poorly the team has done in these late and close situations when he starts chucking up long stepback twos.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Last year's draft pick is looking pretty damn good.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Play amazing basketball sharing the ball go up by 5 against the best team on the road. Last 2 min Lowry and Derozan go ISO and they don't score. Casey needs to do a better job demanding they don't do that s***. Poeltle was a beast. He's really looked great so far, just is so smart positioning wise to get rebounds.

Everyone knew that they would default back to their iso ball at the first sign of resistance and they've done that in their first games against good competition when the game was on the line. Funny thing is they actually played really well moving the ball. To be fair they don't have a chance without Poeltle getting all those offensive boards but still even with how they lost I'm pretty happy with how good the team looks. Lowry and Powell have been pretty bad to start the year and the team still looks great. Wright has really opened my eyes with his defence and passing.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 What a horrific first quarter. It's the Lakers ffs.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 What a horrific first quarter. It's the Lakers ffs. At least they got the win, won the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters with a Lowry triple/double.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 OG, Poetl and Wright give me hope
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 OG, Poetl and Wright give me hope Peoltl has been awesome! He should be starting rather than Siakam imo (who has played fairly well too to be fair).
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Peoltl has been awesome! He should be starting rather than Siakam imo (who has played fairly well too to be fair). He always seems to be in the right spots and can get out to switch on the guards. I'd start him over Bebe ( who has to be one of the worst 7 foot rebounders I've ever seen)
