Raptors beat the Mavs and Thunder back to back on the road. First home loss of the season for the Thunder.

I think it's going to be very hard for the Raps to get a top 5 pick, so for that reason I'm on board with trying to make the playoffs, unless they make some trades very soon.

The thing is it kinda makes sense to try to acquire a good player from a team that wants to tank because there are so many teams tanking that might saturate the market with teams looking to get worse. Our draft pick this year could possibly net us a very good player, but I would only trade it for a huge overpay.

I don't follow the NBA nearly as much as I used to but for a rebuilding team to trade a draft pick, it would need to be an enormous overpay and I still don't know. That's the one sport where a smart draft pick can literally change a franchise almost immediately. Granted a lot of luck is required in terms of the lottery, but they really should be tanking right now.

Normally I would agree, but I feel like draft picks' value this year is higher than ever and they might be able to pick a really good player from a team that's desperate to get worse and stockpile picks.

Trade Lowry and Demar and Vasquez and get this show on the road already. Only trade Amir for something sexy.

They need to get franchise players and the draft fit he best way right now. If anything try to acquire more picks.

Raptors Tank nation is on life support. 4 straight wins including beating Indiana when the Raps where on the second night of a back to back, the last few games have actually not been agony to watch.

What an amazing game to watch. The crowd was electric and you can tell the players really want it.

Ball movement, defense, hustle...it's actually fun to watch.

Playoffs.

I don't see how they can miss the playoffs with their division being so absolutely awful. I don't think they can out-tank the bottom feeders even if they trade Lowry now.

The Tank is completely dead.

They would have to lose all but 5 games or so the rest of the season in order to get in the bottom 5. No chance of that happening. Might as well try to win a round or two in the playoffs.

Fantastic game tonight. Incredible defensive effort, especially Ross on George.

I'm also liking that Knicks pick we got for Bargs in 2016. I know it's a long ways away... but that could be top 10.

15 wins already. I'm not even thinking about tank mode anymore. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy what will likely be some playoff basketball come May.

It was obvious from the start that they weren't going to outtank the very bottom feeders of the league but I never saw how much losing Gay would benefit the team. May as well go out and get a Thadeus Young to try and win a playoff series.

Would you guys consider an extension for Lowry? I kind of like the core they have with some tinkering.

Exactly. There's no reason we can't beat the 5th seed in the easy and win a playoff matchup. Honestly, 3rd place isn't even that improbable. Losing Horford is a huge blow for Atlanta. Outside of Indiana and Miami occupying #1 and #2, the rest is a crapshoot.

I've always been a big Lowry fan (since before he was a Raptor).

The only team id be worried about in the 1st round would be the Wiz with a healthy squad. Atlanta just lost their best player like you said and the rest (including the bobcats) are pretty garbage. Id even be okay with giivng up our 1st at this point since it looks like it will be around the 18-20 range if the impact wing coming back was signed for next year as well. I actually read recently thast Aaron Afalio projects to win his team on average 5 more games per year than Derozan. He'd be a great target as well

The Raptors could conceivably still get a high draft pick and finish third or fourth in the conference. If Masai could find a team desperate enough for a playoff spot, he could package Derozan and another player or their own draft pick for a package involving that team's 1st rounder. There might be a team that thinks very highly of Derozan that he could pull off a trade with.

The Nuggets got the option of swapping 2016 1st round picks with New York in the Melo trade. So effectively, the Raptors have whichever pick is worse between Denver and New York in 2016.
