Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 So I assume u all think that bruce and latos for Cincinnati are cancers and need to be removed from baseball or permanently benched...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 It really isn't that big a deal.......s*** happens. He's a competitor with nothing upstairs, he'll calm down with age. It's at least nice to see some emotion out of the guys, shows they're interested, unlike some guys we've had here over the years who've been a bit disinterested (and not the Doc-cyborg kind).
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Either: a) Lawrie is too stupid to realize that a sac flly in the 9th when you are down 3 runs is not helpful. or Lawrie doesn't care about winning, and just wants to keep his BA where it is, and add an RBI. I'm not sure which is worse.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 You can only use the "he is young" excuse so many times. True but in my opinion in his case he seems to have more to learn that the average youngster playing after his first full season. He has a lot of energy, plays a terrific defence, and his bat will come around. I will be a tad more patient with him however I will not let things slip - I will let him know when he does wrong and why it was wrong. Sometimes you have to take responsiblity for your actions and understand you can't do whatever you want, whenever you want. I am not aware of any situation where he has not taken responsibility for his actions. I do not follow him on twitter so I am not aware of what he has said to come across this way. Has he?
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Yep the biggest issue I have with the guy is that hes showing no signs of learning from his actions or growing up. Just a few days ago he gets tossed for throwing equipment close to the ump and now only 2-3 days later hes basically yelling at the third base coach/player when he was in the wrong When has he repeated an action for which he has been made aware of? It's true he has a ton to learn still but I do not see him repeating errors unless you are referring to his approach at the plate. I am sure he will see how the others are adjusting at the plate and follow suit hopefully soon.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I actually think A is worse. He's a professional baseball player - not understanding such a common game situation is really, really bad. I'd rather have a stupid player than a selfish player. A stupid player can most likely be educated on the finer points of the game. A selfish player like Arencibia just won't listen.

I'm not sure which is worse. None of the above.... He s extremely frustrated with himself and freaked out over the first perceived wrong. It was a douche bag thing to do. But it's over.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I actually expect Lawrie to be demoted soon.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I actually expect Lawrie to be demoted soon. And dickey DFA and buehrle out right cut
admin Site Manager Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 In Lawrie's defense, even though I said he needs to shut his mouth, the guy is just a passionate guy. It was interesting to see his reaction when Kawasaki won it. I was curious if he was going to still be a baby and pissed off... but he was the first guy out of the dug out, a mad man like always. The guy wants to win, period. Yes he needs to control his emotions, but the guy has a lot of passion.
Rafters Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lip reading not that great but seems like Gibbons told Lawrie .....thats BULL$&@t ....you better apologize to him after the game....

So because it is emotion it's ok even though it was selfish and stupid, and ignorant towards teammates and coaches? lol. Lawrie defense out in full force. Lawire kills guy guy, it's ok he's emotional and fiery.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Laurie just proved what an absolute idiot he is. What a f***ing moron.
Respectimo Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lawrie is an idiot. He needs to learn to behave, period.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lawrie is playing today. Today could have been a pivotal crossroad, and the Jays blew the opportunity to teach him
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I honestly think Lawrie is too stupid, stubborn and conceited to ever fully harness his potential. If I were GM, I'd be trading him ASAP.
Respectimo Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 The way he is hitting right now, he doesn't even deserve to play.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 The way he is hitting right now, he doesn't even deserve to play. 5 hits in 3 and a half games sure does suck right, including a HR and 2B...if only we could ban the retards on this board
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 5 hits in 3 and a half games sure does suck right, including a HR and 2B...if only we could ban the retards on this board LMAO, how long have you watched baseball? Anyone can get hits in a few games he is still hitting below .200, and swings wildly and misses pitches over the plate. Until he starts doing it consistently, it's meaningless. Take your own advice.
leaffie Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Discussing the Lawrie situation on XM today. Kennedy would have sent him down last night, and wouldn't bring him back for awhile. Says the team is losing with him, so what difference would it make. Stern, thinks he needs someone to sit down with him, but too talented to give up on. I don't know which article Kennedy was referring to, but apparently Lawrie's sister has got into it with her opinion on the umpires. I guess there was quite a bit posted on twitter. FWIW

LMAO, Bautista has a history of slow starts turning into great seasons, lawrie is still a guy with just potential who right now has trouble hitting 88 MPH fastballs down the pipe. HIs stats speak for themselves. Albert Pujols got off to a bad start to, buts compare them idiot. You must have some man love for Lawire, he has been amped up like a neanderthal and stinking since he got off the DL. It's OK to come out of the closet.

Lets see where his avg is in a month, what a dumbass.

I never said demote him, I responded when you quoted a guy who said lawrie being benched 1 game is not much of a loss because he's not hitting, which he isn't, he's boni bad at the plate right now... MAybe following a conversation. You said Herp Derp he got 5 hit s in 3.5 games herp derp so that means he's somehow irreplaceable LMAO. You got the hots for red bull don't ya?

leaffie Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I would think it should depend on how he reacted when he got in the locker room, out of sight of cameras. If he was apologetic, then you have to hope he is learning something from these things. If not, then this is a symptom of a problem that is not going to go away.
