GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Things must be rough, I find myself wishing the Jake Peavy deal had went through. Pretty bad when your dreaming of a pitcher who hasn't been healthy in, well forever.. I don't think we'd be a better team in that case.

A 30 year old SS who's now hurt, one year of a over-the-hill pitcher who's now hurt too, and a 34 year old who can't throw it past 85. A total of over 150+ mill committed and losing a bunch of prospects also, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 They originally asked for Sanchez. Dear god that would have sucked. Baseball America said that Alderson had asked for Syndergaard IIRC. Regardless, that deal doesn't get done without him and I couldn't have been angrier.

I don't like his secondaries.

His curveball? Sure it needs some work on its consistency, but his changeup is pretty sweet and John Sickels is the only pundit who seems to notice it. Parks likes him too, although to be fair he faps over every Texas boy.

At worst he's dominant closer, but then again, so is Sanchez. I dunno, I guess I'm biased. I got out to see Lansing all the way from Toronto this summer and got to Sanchez, and he looked great.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 ...this summer... You mean Sanchez got demoted? ... This PAST summer, which is one of about 10000000000000 grammatical and spelling errors I just made in that post, which is telling me that I'm probably a bit sleep deprived. I think I had over 150 posts today lol. That's FatCow level.

CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 In the end I see them picking up more relievers Sad, but likely true.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Was *this* the game that turns things around? For real? Feel like they've had a few games that were supposed to turn the tide, only to come out flat the next game. Fingers crossed!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 What shall our victory beverage be?? Mine was Barbados Plantation 20 year old rum. Yum.

I dont if many of us dare to hope for a full on change. they played better, pitched better, hit better.... lets hope they have talked about how much better winning felt and who yesterdays game shows how they really "should" play.
