baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Why aren't the new mods coming down with their respective banhammers?! ban who? and for what? clownmero made a legit post. This board better not just ban someenody cause they were a troll on the other board.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Considering all posts he's made here have been utterly retarded I think it's warranted.

Exactly what I don't want to happen, and why I'm taking time to pick moderators. If you make a legit arguement with reasoning to back it up, you won't get banned for it. If you continue to make stupid posts with no backing, then you'll get banned.

Incessant whining and complaining doesn't qualify as talking baseball.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Great game today. Only 1 strikeout for our batters today! Too bad Morrow had that 1 garbage inning, he could have pitched the full game if not for that.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Because people are just fed up with their crap..which was the whole point of making a new board. It's the same old talking out of their

It's a new forum and we are all new members. Can't just ban people for doing no wrong on this forum.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 what about me? i don't know anything about baseball but still deserve a place here, i think. If people just start getting banned for things they did on another forum then this no longer becomes a public forum and rather it becomes an exclusive club. I don't think anyone want's that, I know I don't. I just think if people start spamming or personally attacking posters, etc, then the mods need to step in and take appropriate action, which in most cases should be a warning. Banning should be a last resort.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 people who were trolling the public forum may actually put some thought into this one. being that it is moderated. Yup. If everyone knows that the mods are active, why would they risk getting banned? I think the instances will be rare. Much of the trolling on the old forum was a result of a poor environment caused by inadequate moderation.

OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Figured I'd say hello. Former bluejays.com poster from around 2001(I think). Been lurking for the last decade or so. Great to have somewhere troll free to discuss the Jays. Anyways that was a hell of win today. Nice to see my boy Delabar with a smooth inning. When he's on his game paired with Janssen it allows the team to play seven Inning games. Curiousity, does anyone see the jays dealing Johnson/Happ/Romero to replenish the farm? Or maybe for cost controlled young talent? Anyways lads, look forward to chatting with ya.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 First post on the new boards. Hopefully trolls gone. Maybe this will help turn the JAYS season around.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Cinco de Mayo...may I suggest either a Mexican beer, Margarita or Pina Colada. Either that or cocaine. how about Rogers just keeps replaying this game for the next week so the fans can stay happy? great team effort. only guy who was still a complete waste of skin was Boni. even DeRosa had a huge game. how long will AA keep trying to convince the Fans/rogers that Boni is a "good player?"
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 kind of felt like a free for all. hopefully this one helps everyones knowledge without the fighting. I agree. It's a shame we couldn't get a few adequate mods at the old forum. It was a simple fix, yet it really seemed like it was a free for all.

He wasn't this bad the last couple of years... but they should have known before the season that he shouldn't play anywhere on the field unless it's in left.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 First post on the new boards. Hopefully trolls gone. Maybe this will help turn the JAYS season around. Perhaps the creation of this board and the destruction of the Internet troll army that the bluejays website is responsible for will help us appease the baseball gods and end our punishment. This board could turn the season around. I think we should only count the jays record since this board was created. So far 1-0!
OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 welcome back! i don't think delabar is THAT good. we still have a need. meanwhile i am not seeing where romero, happ could replenish our farm. i'd like to send janssen and lind in a package to the cards for matt adams. eff our pen. lets get some offense. Well for me it comes down to the fact that Delabar is probably the only guy in our pen with two plus pitches. I mean Janssen has plus control/command, Santos has a plus fastball and is probably a shade below plus on his junk. Delabar's splitter and fastball combo scream high leverage guy to me. Especially if he maintains that filthy K/9 from last year. Thanks for the welcome btw

TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Curiousity, does anyone see the jays dealing Johnson/Happ/Romero to replenish the farm? Or maybe for cost controlled young talent?. Controlled players maybe. I don't see them giving the impression that they are taking a step backwards (even though they should be). Casual fans take things to an extreme so hyped up (Johnson) or popular players (Romero) for someone that has never played a game will appear like the process is starting all over again. I really think the front office is being run like a political office right now, it's more about doing things that don't kill the popularity rather than what is best for the team. In the end I see them picking up more relievers
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I agree. It's a shame we couldn't get a few adequate mods at the old forum. It was a simple fix, yet it really seemed like it was a free for all. it was never going to get fixed. MLB doesn't care about the message boards unless someone offs themselves because of it. baseball is run by dinosaurs. most of baseball has barely embraced the modern player evaluation and you want them to have IT guys getting paid once the board is set up? they are not actually involved with the message boards once they are setup unless they get complaints. a new board is a better solution than waiting for mlb to embrace the modern elements of the 18th century. lol flat earthers rule!!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 In the end I see them picking up more relievers only to DFA them after one appearance.
OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Things must be rough, I find myself wishing the Jake Peavy deal had went through. Pretty bad when your dreaming of a pitcher who hasn't been healthy in, well forever..
