King Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Dwight Smith Jr. has really cooled off after his torrid start 87 wRC+ since the beginning of May, .246/.317/.325
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Pompey not batting 9th in Buffalo behind the likes of Josh Thole and Andy Burns.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/prospect-hot-sheet-june-5/ Ugh, and coming in at number 4 this week.....FFS. Trade that keeps getting worse. Becerra 2/3 with a dinger tonight as well.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Trade that keeps getting worse. Becerra 2/3 with a dinger tonight as well. Soon gonna be the worst trade in baseball history. AA's legacy.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Tim Locastro 3-4 with a HR last night. .326 / .424 / .854 OPS / 26 SB Time to make a move to Dunedin.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman on the bump.. 1 IP / 1 H / 1 BB / 1 K / 0 R Hit was an infield single off Hoffman's glove. Lead off walk, commentators feel he was squeezed. First few fast balls at 93 MPH, but settled into sitting at 95-96. Strike out was on a filthy curve ball at 79 MPH, caught looking. Seems like he has good stuff today, settle in.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman.. 2 IP / 1 H / 1 BB / 1 K / 0 R Sitting at 95-96, touched 97 a few times. HBP on a 0-2 curve that got away. Weakly hit ground balls in the second inning.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman with a strikeout on a 98MPH fastball. 2 more Ground outs to add the total to 6 on the day. Through 3 innings a ball hasn't gone through the infield.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Pompey has been demoted to AA. s***.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman.. 3 IP / 1 H / 1 BB / 2 K / 0 R Two weakly hit ground balls and a swinging K on a 98 MPH heater.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman having a bit of trouble in the 4th. Walked 2 guys and gave up a hit. Command is a bit off.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman threw a 12-6 Curve at 76 MPH. Fastball touched 97, 98
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman.. 4 IP / 2 H / 3 BB / 2 K / 0 R Hit was flared down the right field line. Two BB but he did throw a 2-0 curve, obviously working on things. Curve has good bite while still throwing hard.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Pompey has been demoted to AA. s***. Pompey is already in management's good books, which is an achievement in itself. All he has to do is play well consistently and he'll be back up here in no time.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hoffman done after 4 innings. 2 H 0ER 3 BB 1 HBP 2 SO 7 GO 1 FO
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I guess Pompey's demotion is no big deal since there's no difference between AA and AAA.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I guess Pompey's demotion is no big deal since there's no difference between AA and AAA. Itll be a big deal to him. He probably wants to quit baseball again.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I guess Pompey's demotion is no big deal since there's no difference between AA and AAA. I think there is a big difference. Why even make this comment? Back in the bad old days when AAA was Las Vegas sure. But now? No.

strochez Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Itll be a big deal to him. He probably wants to quit baseball again. Actually Anthopoulos said the major reason was he wanted to get away from "home" and "expectations". Must be a lot harder for Canadian guys like Pompey who grew up in Ontario vs. guys like Lawrie and Saunders, who despite being Canadian don't necessarily associate the Jays as their "Hometown Team".

No. It's not my opinion, it's what some here have said so I'm just going by that. I was told this when I asked when Boyd would be promoted to Buffalo. Maybe they're sending him down to AA so he can focus on baseball since he's so close to his family in Buffalo. Who knows, but they might be mishandling him.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Maybe we should have traded him when he was worth something?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Pompey's parents seem Tony Rasmus esque

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 They seem supportive. I don't see his dad trying to alter Dalton's stance. I could see them trying to call the GM saying Dalton is ready etc...
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I could see them trying to call the GM saying Dalton is ready etc... And why would they listen to them? Don't let your imagination get the best of you
