Tellez subsequently hit his third 3B of the season. Line for the day, 2/5 2K 1 3B 1HR 5 RBI. Big man is turning it on.

How does such a big guy hit so many triples?

Ya, that was my biggest surprise - 3 of them in like 33 games or something like that and that's not bad! According to Chris King (@StatsKing), the triple was an easy triple to dead centre.

Also...4 consecutive multi-hit games. He also seems to have a pretty decent eye IMO.

Miguel Castro has gone 2 innings so far for Bluefield with 1h 0er 0bb 3so.

Kid has gone through 3 minor league levels (DSL, GCL, and now APL) in 1 year. He's 18 years and 8 months old.

Lansing next season, hopefully.

Just going purely by his results/numbers, he's pretty intriguing. I'd love to see how he does in the higher levels, starting with A-ball.

Can't really ask for better results. Anyone have a good report on him?

This is pretty much all I could find.

Chris King (@StatsKing on Twitter — give him a follow), told me that while he wasn’t there for his debut, he plans on seeing Castro’s next appearance. Scouts told Chris that Castro was hitting between 91 and 95 mph on the radar gun and that he was “attacking every hitter.”

Gotta love Robson the GB machine.

66.2% is pretty insane (and it's probably higher now). Best in the entire org.

Ok, Tom Robson is a f***ing freak. He's one of only 4 pitchers in all of pro baseball (majors and minors) with 50+ IP and a GB% of >66%, according to Minor League Central data.

Robson: 66.2% in 58.1 IP (Rk / A-)

Brad Zeigler: 69.2% in 60.2 IP (MLB)

Ben Rowen: 68.7% in 62.2 IP (AAA/AA in Texas org. Also has good K/BB numbers. This looks like a legitimate under-the-radar Ace relief prospect, 24 years old)

Dallas Beeler: 66.9% in 54.2 IP (AA, 24 years old, Cubs org)

edit: Fangraphs GB% is a bit different and would add Seth Maness (50.2 IP, 70.2%). They don't have minor league GB% though.

That's ^ Ben Rowen

Who do you like better, graveman or Boyd?

K's over GB 24/7

Just stay on this sub forum, don't bother with the other one.

Dalton Pompey, cf, Blue Jays: A 16th-round pick back in 2010 when he was considered one of the top Canadian talents in that year’s draft, Pompey did not earn significant at-bats in a full-season league until this year. But don’t give up on him yet. The 20-year-old has some athleticism and his bat is slowly catching up to the league. He hit .474/.600/1.105 this week with three home runs in 19 at-bats after hitting nine in his first 750 pro at-bats.

Rowdy Tellez, 1b, Blue Jays: Toronto couldn’t sign first-round pick Phil Bickford, but they managed to get Tellez in the 30th round for $850,000. Tellez, 18, went 10-for-24 with five extra-base hits this week in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, where he’s shown a patient approach and plenty of raw power during batting practice.

Nice. I'm surprised they haven't promoted DSJ yet. The guy has been Lansing's most consistent hitter all year.

Grant (Winnipeg): Dalton Pompey was "in the team photo". Is the upside there pretty high, or was this likely more of a little blip? Does it all turn on the hit tool?

J.J. Cooper: He’s worth keeping an eye on, but there’s more reason to be skeptical than enthusiastic at this point. There is some pretty useful upside those if he figures it all out.

Listening to the New Hampshire game after Deck No hit Binghampton through 5. While he gave up 3 runs in the 6th including a double (Andy Burns led off the inning with an error) he recovered from what had to be a huge disappointment and struck out the last two. Impressive sounding pitches, he'll only be able to go one more though most likely or will be pulled. He's still getting outpitched by Gorski though.
