It's not the worst one we've had, but we just love having Scrabbles on our team don't we? There's like a 35% chance of pronouncing his name right on the first attempt.

Deiferson Barreto killing it in the DSL this year. 18 years old should definitely see him stateside next year.

Has 27 walks to only 19K in 200 AB. Last 10 games he's hitting .476/.542/.524.

Has 19 SB to 4 CS

I talked with the manager, Urena and Barreto, They told me they'll play in USA next year...

Urena is similar to Profar physically. Barreto is a thin guy and hard to K'

He's Mexican and I love the Mexican pitchers. He's so young but smart dude.

I took his speed/heat with my Android (89 Mph) ..... But we know that Android suck.

That would be awesome.

Jannsen and Barreto heating up again after minor slumps. Tellez not getting a lot of hits or hitting for much power yet but posting a respectable 15%bb rate to 18% k rate.

Well... no K's for Drabek... but 8 of 9 batters ground out in 3 innings and no walks.... that's pretty good.

Has also played almost exclusively 1B this year... which is not so good.

Third baseman Gabriel Cenas (our second big IFA signing in 2010 after Cardona) is finally showing something in his 3rd year of pro ball. he's 19 years and 9 months old and in the GCL so just about teetering towards old for the league but not WAY old.

He went 2-6 with a homerun and 4rbi today. On the year he's hitting .298/.378/.536 3hr 24rbi 7(2b) 2(3b) 9bb 22so. That gives him a 9% walk rate which is about average though he'll have to tone down the 23.7% k rate. If he can make it up to Bluefield or Vancouver by the end of the year and Lansing to start next year, he should be at an age appropriate level.

Shane Opitz a more under-the-radar guy from 2010 is also starting to hit well so far this year. 1-2 with a double and 2 rbi so far tonight to bring his 2013 line to .313/.363/.415 2hr 17rbi 9(2b) 13bb 20so 8sb 4cs (8.4bb% 12.9k%)

He's probably a second baseman longterm (if not a utility man) but he has a good contact bat and that k-rate is ridiculously good. Show's how hard he is to strike out. At 21 years and 6 months he's right about where other players his age should be.

what about Dawel Lugo? --- The kid is hitting well, but is allergic to walks,

He's been great. I just wanted to give some due to a couple of less heralded guys. Lugo also has notoriously good hand eye coordination.
