When have I ever gotten personal? I never get personal.

 

I'm abrasive towards Dinger because I have never been good at filtering myself and I have a big mouth. I'm finding his opinions on baseball and prospects to be getting more and more preposterous as time goes by and I feel like he thinks he's immune to criticism because he's done well in many leagues. I would say Speedy and I are pretty good friends and he's pretty much my complete opposite lol.

 

What is unfortunate is that I didn't decide to really educate myself about fantasy or really take a good look at stats and periphs until I'd already f***ed up my team beyond repair, and it doesn't matter how well I do in other leagues or how sound my opinion is because Dinger will just dismiss because I've been awful in the DDL.

 

So I really am sorry if I rub people the wrong way or if I just seem like a follower (shockingly, I'm not as educated on the Seager flyball thing like Cyborg is, but his opinion made sense. Dinger seemed to dismiss it because it wasn't what he wanted to hear. So piggybacking wasn't my intention.) But I like you guys, including Dinger (actually Dinger is one of my favourite people on here) so if you need me to tone down I will. Hard for me to gauge sometimes.

Nah, just do you. We know we're good. I actually look forward to you performing adequately in DDL in the coming years and gaining some measure of redemption. As for cyborg, I'm not going to take his hypothesis at face value just because he has analytical chops. I would like you to stop being so black and white on semantic issues, though. Whether or not Kyle Seager is a "monster" is not something that can be factually proven, because we don't even have an agreed-upon definition for that term. And stop putting words in my mouth, because I never said that Corey Seager had a .900 OPS floor or will approach a career .900 OPS, in fact in each case I made it very clear that I was NOT insinuating those things.

That was exasperated trolling. You did say you strongly believe that Seager will have more than one .900 OPS season, which I still find baffling and based on nothing substantive. Please don't bring up a 27 game sample in September.

I didn't say I strongly believe, I said there's a "pretty strong chance." I think his bat is comparable to Evan Longoria, who didn't quite get to .900 OPS but nearly did on several occasions. I think if after Longoria's rookie season, you took a poll asking people if he would get 2 .900 OPS seasons in his career, the majority of people would probably have said yes. You want to play the odds, and I get that. Most prospects bust, even the good ones usually don't become elite. I believe Seager has an elite bat, and obviously I put my fantasy money where my mouth is. However, even if he's more like a 20 HR, .825 OPS bat, that's still a borderline 1st round redraft pick and a much better asset than Kyle. I'm not going to make any black and white declarative statements like you did, I couch everything with IMO. You don't know what will happen and neither do I.

 

Let's completely disregard Seager's absurdly good line and call it a BABIP mirage, that's fine. You can't fake a 12.4% BB rate and .224 ISO, nor can you fake a 45% hart-hit ball rate. Those are real, elite underlying abilities. I also heavily consider his AA performance, since AA performance is a KPI for me. If you mash AA at 20/21, it bodes very, very well for your future.
