There's a little resize thing in the bottom right hand corner of the quick reply box, try dragging it smaller and see if it fixes it.

Well you can create any combination of letters and/or numbers you wish if you go to tiny url and paste in the url for the new jays board. That will now become the link you will click on to get to the forum. Still not sure if the firewall will see through this.

 

As an aside, I got a private notification popping up cuz of my settings so now anytime someone quotes my post I will be able to respond without having to read everything.

To be alerted when anyone quotes you go to the "General" settings. You need to place check-marks on the following:

 

In the "Private Messaging" section ensure these are selected.

- Private Messaging on

- Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up

 

In the "Visitor Messaging" section ensure this is selected.

- Private Message

One other note on this - Under the section "Private Messaging" ensure the "Don't save a copy of sent messages" is also selected. From what I understand there is a limit to the number of private messages you can have in your private messages box (in and sent). After reading any private messages it may be wise to delete it in case someone tries to send you 50 more - I believe that's the limit.

Instructions for using Stylish to not display posts of ignored users (make sure you install the Stylish addon if you want to do this):

 

There's very minor differences between the two, but nothing significant. For Chrome:

 

 

1. Click on the Stylish icon (top right hand corner at least for me), and click "managed installed styles".
   
2. On the left hand side of the screen, click on "Write New Style"
   
3. Beside "Applies to", click "select", choose "urls on the domain", type in "www.bluejaysmessageboard.com", and click "add".
   
4. Under the code section, type in ".postbitignored {display:none !important;}" (without the quotes, make sure you don't miss the "." before postbitignored).
   
5. On the left hand side, type in a name for the style (I chose "bluejaysmessageboard"), select the option for "Enabled", and click "save".
   

 

To toggle it on and off, just click on the Stylish button and choose enable/disable.

 

Just a heads-up. Icouldn't get the "Stylish 1.1" addon to work in Chrome even though I cut and pasted the above code - I would type everything in, click on save but it wouldn't save. Anytime I tried to move away from the page it would say it hasn't been saved. Anyway, I found another addon called "Stylebot" which works well in Chrome - it seems to address the issue of hiding the notification "This message is hidden because ******** is on your ignore list." quite well.

Subforums are dumb. I hardly ever leave the OT subforum anymore. How am I supposed to discover n00bs in need of shaming, when I have to click all the way over to a new subforum to see them?

Could someone possibly fix the linking to view all thanked posts and thanks?

I ask because I swear some of these trolls just make bogus accounts and then thank one

of their next aliases so when they post under that alias, it'll show they have multiple thanks

and some credibility. But really it's just themselves thanking themself via other troll accounts.

You could probably link them all up to the same poster. if ya got the time and resources available.

Hey Juiced, any way to make the little blue 'go to newest unread post' button to something a little bigger? I've been reading the forums on a tablet recently and its hard to hit with a non-mouse pointer. Just an idea.
