I'm surprised that the Avs didn't go and get some sort of veteran backup or 1B guy. I guess they have faith in young Annunen who has played well, but in just six games. It seems like they are leaning on Georgiev too heavily this year (most appearances at 52 and tied with Saros for most starts) and he's not playing overly well. On a team as strong as the Avs, one would expect their starter to be well above fighting for a .900 SV %. May just not be quite cut out to be playing that often, thought maybe they'd do something to take some of the load off his shoulders.

That was never going to happen and not the Leafs biggest issue at all. Need to not hang the existing goalies out to dry. Edmundson needs to cross-check his way into Leafs hearts like he has in playoffs of yesteryear.

Is the goaltending shaky, or is the play in front of them. If the D tightens up, the goaltending will be good.

Edmonton, Philly, Tampa and Dallas are other teams with 1 injury and they're f***ed, as well.

I don't understand how you hold the best asset on the market and don't get at least one premium asset in return.

 

Also, why hang on to Neds? They couldn't have gotten at least a 2nd for him? I'm blown away by these decisions.

That trade is quantity over quality, I thought the Oilers or Avs should've been in on Ned.

 

Seriously, the Canes had better spects to give. That's Dubas first trade in which he was selling, maybe he'll get better, but that deal gets a C-.

Almost with the comeback. If they never allowed that 4th Flyers goal, damn.

 

Leafs have one of the most explosives offenses in the NHL. Just need to be more physical. They need two stud defensemen who could defend.

They're a borderline Playoff team in the Eastern Conference. Leafs aren't playing a team like the Capitals in R1 or R2 lol.

The Leafs offense is explosive but it's going to get shut down by better defensive and tougher teams when the Playoffs roll around. The Leafs as well will have games where they are a defensive mess and give up 4-5 goals. It's deja vu every year with this group.

 

The Leafs took care of a Washington team easily tonight, putting up 7 goals. You think that is happening against a team like Boston or Florida? Even still, Leafs allowed 3 goals tonight and weren't defensively sound.
