Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Jeannot to the Lightning.
JG34 Verified Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Jeannot to the Lightning. Yeah happy the Leafs stayed away at that price.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I bet it will work out for the Bolts in the end because it the Bolts and u know, BUT that’s outrageous to pay that for Jeannot. Make ya scratch ur head.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Jeannot to the Lightning. Bottom 6 guys are getting a player return plus 5 draft picks including conditional 1sts ? Is there something I'm missing about Jeannot as his numbers look really ... meh.

Plus they know he’s a pest. U know this will probably come back to kick us in the arse come first round.

Still seems like a gigantic overpay unless Tampa has a bunch of picks stockpiled they're just ditching because they can.

JG34 Verified Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 McCabe and Lafferty are pretty great adds. Get that D and a bottom 6 winger that can contribute offensively.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Is this a good move for the Buds? I don't follow hockey enough to know.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Is this a good move for the Buds? I don't follow hockey enough to know. Yes. McCabe still has 2 years remaining on his contract after this season. Lafferty has one more after this season. Neither are rentals. McCabe is the Top 4 D-man that can step in for Muzzin.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Is this a good move for the Buds? I don't follow hockey enough to know. I like that for Toronto. McCabe isn't a world beater but he solidifies the middle of the defense core and with the 50% retention, Toronto gets him at just $2M per year for another two more seasons. I would think that price would be reasonable for McCabe @50% alone, but also getting a useful bottom six forward in Lafferty, signed for another season at a fairly low rate.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Certainly a different looking team then it was a month ago. Just curious if a 1st rounder is as valuable in the 30th pick overall range as we think it is?

Just curious if a 1st rounder is as valuable in the 30th pick overall range as we think it is? If it's in that 25-30 range, definitely not. Depending on the draft (some are much deeper than others), but usually, once you get passed that top 15-20....players between 21-50 are very interchangeable. It isn't unlike baseball...you have your top tier guys that you know are going early...but at a certain point you can get guys ranked 80th taken at the end of the 1st round.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 McJesus hits the 50 mark.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 McJesus hits the 50 mark. Can’t believe they left him all alone like that, and great hustle from Kostin to nullify the possible icing.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Can’t believe they left him all alone like that, and great hustle from Kostin to nullify the possible icing. Yeah, Kostin and Connor caught them napping on an expected icing, great game.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Looks like Kanes gonna be a Ranger after 6:30 today.

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Yeah, Kostin and Connor caught them napping on an expected icing, great game. did you see Koston's slash at the end of the game what a f***ing idiot, lmao blocks 7 shots in a row like a hero then takes the dumbest slashing penalty of the year
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Tanner Jeannot returned more in a trade than Patrick Kane. Hockey is dumb.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Tanner Jeannot returned more in a trade than Patrick Kane. Hockey is dumb. This ^^^
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Tanner Jeannot returned more in a trade than Patrick Kane. Hockey is dumb. That had more to do with the Blackhawks having no leverage, Kane wasn't waiving his no movement clause for any team other than the Rangers. He did the Hawks dirty, lol. Lightning gave up a lot for Jeannot though, dumn.
