    The splitter just doesn't look like it has that same down tumbling action, more of a changeup that kind of just floats. At least watching last night that's what I seemed to notice. For Gauseman to get close to the 22/23 level he's going to need the splitter no matter how good the fastball is.

    Rockies just lost 17-2 to the Brewers. What an absolute dumpster fire than entire org is. It’s sad because it’s a great city/ballpark but the fans have no reason to show up to watch the garbage they put on the field.

    The game also went to extras before it was even 9pm lol.

    Pitching has been pretty damn good I would say. Biggest positive has been the starters going deep into games which has allowed the jays to deploy a rested pen. Having the starter go 6/7 and turning to green/little/garcia/hoffman helps so much. The less of bums like Barnes the better. Hoffman has been an absolute stud. Signing couldn’t have gone any better so far.

    Sure if it was one dead year but there could be like 4-5 dead years on both of those contracts which is way different lol. And it’s literally an executives job to always have an eye on the future outlook otherwise they would be doing a disservice to the organization. People complained about AA trading from the farm system, well at least he didn’t sign anyone albatross contracts which is way worse of a situation/would handicap the team worse.

    Roden so far hasn’t looked great vs LHP. Lots of weak contact. I guess Springer is getting the full day off cuz that would have been the time to PH him.

    I'm sure he likes the city. But he would sign this contract if it meant living in Buffalo lol.

    I think fully healthy he's on the bench at least vs RHP. Then you sub him in for defence late in the game since Wagner isn't that good at 3rd.

    Lol the broadcast just raving about Vladdy and how great he is for signing and how much he loves Toronto blah blah. Dont think he gives a rats ass about the city of Toronto lol. He just got 500M lol.

    Why is Springer not in the lineup anyways? Of course he would have been been up with the bases loaded too lol

    f***ing Wagner got to have a better approach on that 3-1 pitch. Could have been a called strike but still frusterating.

    Rogers could just sell the team before the last 5-7 dead years of Vladdy begin. Smart business.

    Yeah it really doesn't make sense they caved this hard. Also sets a bad precedent for other negotiations in the future with players/agents.

    So say it was for 20M signing bonus per year then they still have to pay him 20M even if there is a CBA work stoppage as its a "signing bonus". At least thats how it has worked in the NHL.

    lol Vladdy will have to pay 10s of Millions in lawyer fees because CRA will be coming after him till his death for that signing bonus.. Bautista, Martin and in hockey Taveras have had long battles with them.

    325M of that is a signing bonus spread out over course of the deal. Meaning if there is a work stoppage Jays are still on the hook lol. Mannnn Jays got absolutely rinsed in this negotiation....

    Bo seems to have gotten pretty good at making the routine plays where as in the past there was a lot of throwing errors. You can see on that one play last night where if he doesn’t get his feet set the throw was awful. His range still seems below average just watching though and only will continue to get worse as he ages. And I’m not really sure you want to hand over $300M to a guy with no position in 4-5 years. It’s been great to see him hitting well so far this year but you don’t want to be stuck with a Bogarts contract. And with Vladdy having 5 sunk years at the end you don’t want to be paying Bo and Vladdy $70M a year for 2 War in the last 5 years of that deal.

    Little reminds me a ton of Cecil actually. Both have such a good curveball. Lucas is more sinker, where Cecil was 4 seem but both had gross swing and miss stuff and not the best command.

    Well I guess if you have Lucas going and are severe underdogs anyways may as well punt the lineup.

    I just remember seeing a few PA and it looked like he really struggled to see the ball, and you add in the numbers in his career vs LHP plus the scouting reports saying he's a platoon and that's why I wouldn't play him today.

    I wouldn't play Wagner, he's looked pretty overmatched against LHP. Also after his baserunning blunder he can sit for a night.

    Maybe he rediscovers some Fenway magic from the same place he had that sensational debut.
