  1. It is not Nimmo. Atkins will trade a catcher for an OF from Arizona. The savings from Teo will be used to fund part of Rondon's salary.
  2. Here is another scenario: 1- Trade one of Kirk or Moreno for an Arizona OF 2- Use the 15M and add around 10M to sign Rondon.
  3. There will definitely be another move to get a new OF of similar value or better so I like the move. Teoscar was never going to return something big given that he was close to being cost neutral. Another positive is that this trade reduces the number of players Vlad can clown with during games.
  4. Was he or Strider on opening day roster?
  5. I do not understand how this rule incentivizes teams to promote good players between start of season and July. Had the Orioles waited a couple months, they would have had an extra year of Rutschman AND a higher draft pick. If I am a team with little to no hope of making the playoffs, I either start the year with my elite prospects or bring them up very late to avoid a top 2 ROTY situation.
  6. Sweet. Seems like 2024 is when we will have robo umps for balls and strikes. Just one more season of BS calls.
  7. He lost -10 pounds by the end of the season.
  8. LOL no he is not. He is slugging just over 0.400. Slap hitting and walking is less valuable for fat players. Look it up.
  9. Kirk of ONeill and Hicks. ONeill was a 5+ WAR player in 2021! That is like ... 1 year ago. Jansen's eye sight can be fixed with glasses. Kirk's roundness cannot be fixed.
  10. Kirk is fat. Fat position players almost never improve past 23. Look it up.
  11. Kirk for ONeill and Hicks. Get it done Shatkins.
  12. Obviously. No way you invest that much money over multiple years on a big question mark.
  13. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2023-top-50-free-agents/ If these estimates are close to reality, then there is no way that a QO to Stripling makes sense. You can do so much better by using that money on some of the free agents. Add $5M for 2023 and then reallocate Ryu's salary moving forward to get Rondon? sign me up. Save $5M in 2023 and then get Senga at $15M for 3 more years. Seems like a better investment as well.
  14. But I actually am smarter than streamer. I expected Jansen to outperform Streamer in 2022 and he definitely did. Here another prediction, Jansen will outperform the projections you posted. Kirk will not.
  15. Yea. Projections are the bible based on your way of thinking. Let's go with them. Kirk for Carroll and Lawlar. Get it done Shatkins.
  16. I do not believe projections account for body shape either. I wish Terminator was another team's GM so that he can overpay for Kirk. Based on these projections, we should be able to land Corbin Carroll easily using Kirk. Arizona might need to add more.
  17. Really? You gotta do better buddy. 1- These are last year's projection numbers for the 2022 season. 2- Projection systems do not dig into underlying metrics and fixed glasses. They look at overall MLB players historical performances and predict outcome based on comparable players. 3- If anything, the 2022 projections prove that Jansen is underappreciated. He actually exceed the total 2022 projected WAR in just 54% of the 2022 projected PAs. His performance was basically twice as good as what was projected in the games he played. The only blemish was being injured.
  18. I mean that's the point. Getting him signed with some question marks allows you to get him for cheap. There is definitely a risk. The risk in my mind is about health not performance. His underlying numbers are too good. 5/40 seems reasonable given he will make less than 4M in arb in 2023. But if he has a full season with last years numbers, he will be looking for 15M per year at least. It is similar to Bautista's sitiation, if AA waited 1 more year before extending him, no way he stays a Blue Jay for long.
  19. Why not try to extend him before his price balloons? You can get 5 MVP years instead.
  20. I am in the camp for trading anyone who brings full value back and improves the team in the process. If Moreno brings back Corbin Carroll.. why not? They are at identical stages of their career and probably have similar potential. The only difference is position. Carroll's position is of higher need to the Blue Jays, and Arizona could really use a catcher of the future. Similarly, trade Jansen if he brings back full value in a position of need. Not my idea, but seems like it is liked enough by all sides: https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trades/trade-105658/
  21. Is Colorado even contending in the next couple of years? If not, they have no use for Jansen in the next couple years. They should probably be looking for prospects for their assets.
  22. Swanson (probably for a little less AAS) Rondon (probably for fewer years)
  23. Jansen's glasses have JARVIS built in. This compensates for whatever physical deficiencies you might be imagining.
  24. You are wrong. I am not Danny Jansen. I am his mom. I did NOT nurse my son for two full years so that he gets traded for f***ing ONeill.
  25. You are such a snowflake. You started calling people fanboys after we called out your s***** trade idea for ONeill and a BP piece that would probably be DFAed. ONeill was last year's darling.. get over it. He sucks.
