  1. Fix the outfield. Need to do two of: A- Vlad for Corbin Carroll. B- Sign Nimmo C- Kirk for Nootbaar
  2. What moves should they have made that would have topped getting Bass and Pop? Moving forward, the team priorities should be: 1- Find 4th and 5th starters. 2- Improve the outfield. Tapia and Gurriel must go. People here seem to be aware of Tapia's shortcomings, but are oblivious to Gurriel turning into a slap hitter with bad outfield defense and base running. The Jays were 27th defensively in the OF. 3- Move Bo to 2B and find a real SS. The Blue Jays were 27th at SS defensively. Just show Bo the numbers and tell him to f*** off. 4- If they can get an elite BP piece, then great. Otherwise, improving the defense at SS and OF should help all our pitchers including the BP.
  3. Most ace relievers are either homegrown or salvage projects. Most teams are reluctant to invest too much money in bullpen arms given how inconsistent most are. You think Seattle "invested" in their elite bullpen? Munoz: Lottery ticket in a trade while recovering from injury. Swanson: After 3 years of being average-to-s***, becomes one of the best relievers in baseball this year. Brash: s*** starter turned into good reliever. Murfee: Makes the majors at 28 years old after having 4+ ERA and FIP in AAA last year. Becomes one of the better relievers in baseball. Sewald: Was literally s*** until he was added as a 31-year old non-roster invitee by Seattle in 2021. Castillo: Average reliever Maybe the Dodgers paid a s*** ton of money to assemble their BP? Phillips: Seriously .. look him up. He was Beasley until this year. Vesia: Acquired as a pretty good minors RP in a trade without giving up anything. Kimbrel: The only player with high salary. He was not better than any of the core Jays bullpen pieces. Bickford: s*** Gretarol: Failed starter who became an inconsistent RP. Performed as well as Garcia this year. Ferguson: Avg reliever became very good after TJS. No investment. Trade deadline acquisitions: Martin: 4.31 ERA RP becomes an ace reliever after trade. Let's look at Toronto's core pieces starting 2022: Romano: s*** starter who was lost in rule 5 draft and then returned before becoming a good reliever at 27 years old. Cimber: Was excellent last year and pretty good this year. Would be 3rd or 4th best reliever in most contenders' Garcia: Decent reliever who also would be 3rd or 4th best reliever in most contenders' BPs Phelps: Ditto Richards: Average reliever last year who became s*** this year. Mayza: Meh reliever who is only effective against lefties. No change from last year. Others: Merryweather: Often injured RP Pearson: Was supposed to be a core BP piece did not pitch a single inning. Trade deadline acquisitions: Bass: Had sub 2 ERA before trade. Had sub 2 ERA post trade. Sucked in the game yesterday. Overall, performed as one of the best relievers in baseball in 2022. Pop: Third best to Romano and Bass. So, stop being drama queens and making unsubstantiated claims that the bullpen was utter disaster based on one historically bad game yesterday. Is it the best BP? No. Does it need a piece or two? Yes. Is it a complete disaster? No.
  4. I doubt he "ignored" Springer. He probably did not hear him.
  5. Their current 1B did out WAR Vlad, but might be a fluke at 31 years old.
  6. Here is the thread about Berrios signing. You can go through it and see how many hated it: https://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/9943-The-Blue-Jays-extend-Jos%C3%A9-Berr%C3%ADos-for-7-years-and-131M?highlight=Berrios
  7. Everyone here is my nemesis.. Captain Hindsight. Everyone was comfortable with Romano, Garcia, Richards, Cimber, Pearson, and Mayza at the start of the season. Did we think it was the best bullpen? No, but we thought it was pretty solid given the data we had at the end of 2021. Other than Richards and Pearson, they were all solid to pretty good in 2022 as well. Berrios extension was widely praised when it happened. We all loved the Gausman signing. Kikuchi signing looked like it could go either way at the time. Bass and Pop looked like good acquisitions for the BP at the trade deadline. People asking for Atkin's head are exercising 20/20 hindsight.
  8. I am trying to help others by sharing my self therapy for depression after this game. Other people can remain angry, sad, and depressed as much as they want.
  9. Everytime I start getting depressed I remember what Ukrainians are feeling, what Russian conscripted men are feeling, and that we might be at the brink of nuclear war. Then I realize .. it is not a big deal to lose a baseball game in a heart breaking fashion. Let's move on.
  10. More like Moneyball. A bunch of above average players do well enough to get into the playoff but then get sent home early.
  11. Were you just s***ing on Teo in a game where he hit 2 HRs while continuing to suck GIDP fatty's dick?
  12. Stop being a Vladdy fan girl. I am watching. Fatty is grounding out every AB. Me watching the game does not change that these are GIDP balls.
  13. Blue Jays Blue Jays - Bottom 1st Ray pitching for SEA SEATOR Guerrero Jr. grounded out to second. Blue Jays Blue Jays - Bottom 3rd Ray pitching for SEA SEATOR Guerrero Jr. singled on a ground ball to center, Espinal scored. Blue Jays Blue Jays - Bottom 6th Festa pitching for SEA SEATOR Guerrero Jr. grounded out to second. Take a seat.
  14. Don't know if you are joking. It is a f***ing GIDP ball. The guy is GIDP machine.
  15. Another GIDP ball by Vlad. Luckily we had two outs already.
  16. You're underestimating our bullpen's ability to f*** things up. Let's not jinx it.
  17. Not you, but the GIDP balls kind of get tiring.
  18. For me, it is how some treat Vlad like he is a superstar when he is merely above average. 300M contract? f*** off. We don't need Prince Fielder or Pablo Sandoval situation here.
  19. You are right. Vlad provides no positional value. Reduce Vlad's contract to 5 yrs 60M and add happy meal bonus for finishing up top 10 in MVP voting
  20. Kirk provides similar war to Vlad in the long run probably. He is also fat like Vlad. 5 years 75M.
  21. I think Bo would command more. 10 years 150M should be good. This would set Vlad's reasonable value at 5 years 75M.
  22. He is not horrible. Just above average. He is also good at keeping ballparks' lawns free of moles, but why would the Blue Jays pay him for that if they are using artificial turf?
  23. Why would you pay more for a 3 WAR player? He is also fat.
