  1. You would need to follow my arguments with Terminator from the beginning to get it.
  2. As Danny's mom, I can confidently say that the Blue Jays wasted their opportunity to extend my son at a reasonable rate two years ago. My son will become filthy rich after this season.
  3. I just can't imagine a 27 year old swinging the way Bo was swinging 2 years ago. It was like he was about to pop out of his shoes with every swing. I think he is done. If I am going to give a compliment to the FO, it is not signing Manoah, Vlad, and Bo to long term deals. At least this team can be rebuilt in a couple of years.
  4. His skill set was never going to age well. He is already past his peak and is in free fall now.
  5. Brilliant decision by Atkins not signing Jansen for cheap a couple of years ago and betting on Kirk long term. The team will look even better with Jansen gone next year.
  6. Vlad is not coachable. His ego and lack of awareness are unmatched. He thinks he is in the same league as Soto and Acuna and does not realize that he is a replacement level player. But he is what he is. The real problem is the beta front office and management team that give in to players and do not hold them accountable. Fat players are rewarded with major playing time. Clowns are allowed to fool around while they and the team are underperforming. Coaches and managers shrug their shoulders when players do not listen. Declining players are given more at bats and at critical spots in the line up. Vlad should be benched. Bo should move from short and bat lower in the line up. Springer should bat 8th or 9th. We need a manager who can actually make hard decisions to help the team.
  7. Isn't everyone here a forum crusader and loses his s*** when someone posts in the wrong thread or start unnecessary threads? I am just trying to fit in. Discuss fantasy in the fantasy thread, nerds. Stop raising my hope that there are new posts with Blue Jays news only for me to be disappointed with fantasy discussions.
  8. Great job hijacking this thread to discuss fantasy leagues.
  9. Sorry. I only trust reliable sources like Morosi and Dodgers Nation.
  10. Is he on a plane traveling to Toronto as we speak?
  11. He is inconsistently bad offensively; often really bad with some flashes of good performance. Given that his monster month was April, it is clear that the league adjusted to him.
  12. Please stay away from Chapman. He is clearly declining offensively. The guy produced wRC+ 75 or less in 4 of the 6 months of the season. For context, Varsho outhit Chapman in May, June, August, and September. Varsho was a better hitter than Chapman in the second half.
  13. That does not matter. No team should be able to dodge (f***ing Dodgers) over 30% of the CBT hit through exploiting loopholes. This is not only impacting other teams' competitiveness, but also their revenue.
  14. I really do not give a f*** if he still ends up with the Dodgers. I just want the Dodgers to have a harder time signing other players because of this contract.
  15. Actually there is something MLB can do. MLB will not approve very long contracts that reduce the annual payout for players to evade salary tax thresholds. This is why teams do not sign players until they are 45 or 50. This looks very similar.
  16. Has MLB approved the deal? I don't believe the deal is official yet. I speculated earlier that the reason the deal has not been announced formally is because there might be some protests due to potentially extreme deferrals. I had not actually expected them to be THIS extreme. This is just pure horseshit.
  17. 68M out of 70M of Ohtani's annual salary is deferred. How the f*** is this allowed?
  18. Has any official MLB entity made comments on the deal? I don't believe the Dodgers or the Blue Jays front offices have said anything. Same with MLB commissioner office. This might be wishful thinking, but I wonder if the deal is being contested due to these deferrals.
  19. Thank you, Mini-Me. There is no way Toronto was going to go to $700M. We were simply outbid.
  20. So much nonsense here about "preferred destination" and "Jays being played". Let me state the obvious: Ohtani went to the highest bidder. Captain Obvious to the rescue.
  21. Because we know one year of data is sufficient. I bet all the previous year-to-year data points looked like a flat line.......
  22. If I had to guess I think it was an issue of Schneider being dumb. What likely happened was Atkins and his analytics department provided Schneider with a report saying Berrios numbers drop second time through the order or something like that. Schneider interpreted that as "Berrios must be switched before going second time through the order".
  23. Luckily for the Twins, Lopez can pitch more than 3 innings because they don't have John Schneider as their manager.
  24. I am surprised that you're surprised. Vladdy is one of the dumbest players I have ever seen and is a terrible baserunner. He got picked off multiple times during the season.
