  1. What did the Orioles get out of promoting Rutschman in May? I cannot find a single non-tangible benefit and a couple of major negative outcomes: 1- Lose 1 year of Rutschman control 2- Go down a few slots in the draft If non-competitive teams believe their prospects have a good shot at being Rookie of the Year, then they should add them to opening day roster or wait until July at the earliest to promote them. Promoting good prospects between April and June when the team is not competitive is just counter-productive.
  2. I am actually not so sure anymore that the Blue Jays will win the Bo hearing. Miami's lost two despite proposing the 'projected' arbitration number for their side.
  3. Yea. Me too. I would never sleep with him.
  4. Thanks. Only 34 individuals here discussed this prior to this post and this post is in no way redundant.
  5. I would be extremely happy, but I do not understand how he can jump this much offensively. Maybe Jansen gives him a copy of his J.A.R.V.I.S glasses? EDIT: Ok they are also projecting Varsho as NEGATIVE runs defensively. This projection system is broken.
  6. No. A right-handed OF is not needed.
  7. I saw this in multiple places now. Why 24-27 instead of 24-26?
  8. They are both very young and are unlikely to contribute in 2024 (Brown will be 22, Martinez will be 21 at the start of 2024). Very few players make it to the bigs this young. Many are still in college at this age.
  9. Not a big deal. Manoah has never been a MLB.com top 100 prospect. Same with Kirk, Espinal, and Biggio. There are plenty of intriguing prospects worth following at every level in the Blue Jays system.
  10. The fangraphs article actually said that the vast majority of his bunt singles were not to the 3rd base side. The shift did not factor into his success.
  11. Which grandmother cooks Vladdy's food? Maternal?
  12. Poor kid. It is clear someone in the family eats his lunch.
  13. LOL. This is amazing.
  14. I don't know. He tipped his cap to Vlad when Vlad destroyed him last year. Cole does not strike me as a sore loser.
  15. Bo is a good player but he does not seem to be that smart. He is far from being an outlier and his disagreement with the formula means little to arbitrators.
  16. Why send a tweet to Atkins when I can ask Shapiro to hire me as the new Jays GM.
  17. We running in circles here. Let's agree to disagree. The Blue Jays are much more likely to win the case in my opinion. That being said, if I were the Jays, I would have filed at a slightly higher number (5.2M) just to make sure I win with a 99% certainty.
  18. I disagree with this. The vast majority of arbitration cases are in fact determined without a hearing. The formula is not known (3rd party), but good approximations exist. The Jays are much closer to those approximations. Bo has never been a guy who looked at data and facts. If he did, he would have realized that he sucks ass at SS and moved to 2B by now.
  19. It is not that at all. There is actually a set formula that is used to approximate arbitration value and and it has nothing to do with your post. It used to be the Elias thingy back in the days and it might have gotten updated, but arbitrators will be using it to determine which side is closer. Based on 3rd party estimates (5.7M-6.1M), the jays are comfortably closer.
  20. Pretty sure that is not how it works. Most recent year stats matter most for arbitration. Bo's first two years do not matter as much.
  21. There is a difference between believing in himself and being delusional. He is a very good player but nowhere near warranting the highest contract in baseball. I will cheer for him to achieve a level that deserves the biggest contract, but he is more likely to get there as a 2B.
  22. I do not if you know or remember this. Last year the jays wanted to pay him a little more than league minimum and he thought it was insulting. He has a stick up his ass when it comes to money.
  23. Well, given that Bo's feelings are hurt anyways, it is time to move him to 2B.
  24. Makes sense. I expect 25 OOA, 25 HRs, and 25 SBs a year.
  25. What are you talking about? Signing Jansen to a medium-term and affordable contract is smart. Signing Fatty Vladdy to a long-term and expensive contract is stupid. Signing Yips Bichette to a long-term and expensive contract is stupid. It depends on the case.
