  1. Who do you want to demote or lose completely?
  2. Vlad looked as fit as I have seen him. His play to get the runner at home was impressive.
  3. In this case, was he? 0 outs.
  4. Tapia was the 4th OF (Merrifield or Biggio will cover this now) so he had a lot of PAs. Zimmer had 117 PAs in the whole year. 33 PAs in the second half. Lukes is taking Zimmer's place.
  5. This makes sense in some way. I would not want Lopez to be a bench warmer who plays once a week.
  6. Exactly. I think he and Pop deserve to make the team, but for the first time ever, the bullpen does not have a clear opening. Romano Garcia Swanson Bass Cimber Mayza Richards One of Pop or Pearson. I expected Pearson to be up in a month when one of Bass (seems to have lost 3 MPH in velocity at 35), Richards, or whoever else gets injured or start sucking.
  7. This cracked me up big time.
  8. Damn. 9Ks in 5 innings. Tight tight tight!
  9. Don't worry guys. Otto Lopez got it.
  10. Francis throwing 95 and 96? Along with his strong showing in winter leagues, he has become a lot more interesting.
  11. Fangraph's ETAs are when players need to be added to 40 man roster.
  12. That's because nobody takes WBC seriously. It is just a for-fun tournament that makes spring training a little bit more interesting.
  13. 5th. We don't have anybody available given how many pitchers we used yesterday.
  14. LOL. I must getting old because these are almost the exact same words I was about to post. Poor kid. Just 19 with little professional experience. Must be an overwhelming experience.
  15. This is not going to be pretty.
  16. I agree with the first two. Will add: 1- Manoah will have a ERA over 4.5 2- Blue Jays will be the worst team in the majors in base running. 3- The Blue Jays will have the best record in the majors.
  17. Again, I think he did it to save a couple of arms from an already taxed bullpen. As you said, it probably does not matter.
  18. I am Danny Jansen's mama. Get your facts straight.
  19. He might have wanted to trigger the mercy rule. Had GB scored, he could have needed two extra innings from pitching.
  20. It is kind of weird. Seems like the homers Berrios gave up came off good pitches down or below the zone.
  21. Yes they certainly paid a fair price for one of the best players in the league despite his league average bat. He produced very good or elite defensive numbers in all OF positions. What the f*** is this? Should we go back to measuring players with batting average and RBIs only?
  22. I hope so too. But it seems people around here are thinking that Varsho is only worth the trade if he takes a step forward with his bat. I think he is worth the trade even if his bat remains average.
  23. WTF are you talking about? He was a 4.7 WAR player with his league average bat. He is worth the trade without the need to improve offensively. He can stay a 100 wRC+ and still produce 4+ WAR seasons.
  24. I will be very happy if he improves offensively, but he does not need to improve offensively to be worth the trade. If he maintains his league average bat, elite defense, and good base running then he will still be one of the best players on the team.
  25. No we did not. We paid for a well-above-average player. His bat has been league average.
