  1. Yah I have to second that I think its pretty obvious Shatkins are calling the shots and they just want a manager who will do exactly what they want without questioning it or going off script.
  2. Its a good thing we have ++outfield defense. Cause its way more important than offense. Atkins knows whatsup
  3. "The offense is right where we want it to be" - John Schneider
  4. Varsho is coming out strong HAHA
  5. I think Atkins and Shapiro haven't been terrible, but they haven't been great either. Reality is in Baseball you used to have to be elite to make the playoffs. Now you just have to be good. So I dont blame them for taking the less aggressive approach and trying for sustained success. However for the payroll and expectations that were set up for the Vlad/Bo era, just being perennial wildcard contender isn't satisfying. Satisfying Rogers, probably. Fans not really. It doesn't help their case that they claimed they would build some great farm system and we are currently positioned in the bottom 3rd. It also doesn't help that these guys replaced AA who has gone on to become one of the best GM's in the MLB.
  6. Atkins- Trades number 1 catching prospect in the league for Dalton f***ing Varsho. - Devises insane plan to pull a red hot hot Berrios after 3 innings and s*** the bed in yet another playoff game - Gets used like a fiddle for Ohtani's camp as leverage - Resigns KK and signs this guy in what is clearly a continued approach in run prevention when this teams needs are obviously power and offense Its not been a good couple of years for Shatkins thats all ill say.
  7. I like KK but is this going to block Varsho from playing CF and having any actual value to this team?
  8. I dont have twitter but was thinking about making one just to tell Morosi that he has lost all and I mean all credibility in the the insider world. I probably am not going to do this but everyone who has a twitter needs to get on their and tell Morosi he may as well retire because nobody will ever believe a single thing he says ever again.
  9. Honestly I think most people knew this was the outcome since like the beginning of last season. Im not that let down because I never got my hopes that far up. It was an extreme long shot.
  10. Im just saying what literally everybody was saying before the whole Bluejays Ohtani drama started
  11. Ohtani's camp needed a 2nd team to leverage LA against. Sadly I think we are that team. Everyone just seems to have forgotten that is widely known before the season ended that he wants to stay on the west coast to minimize travel time to Japan. Also isn't it a little worrying that his camp clearly stated plain and simple that leaks will be held against the team and all were hearing is Bluejays and Ohtani and its basically radio silence from the Dodgers.... I wouldnt get your hopes up to much.
  12. I think Ohtani is getting off holding the entire league hostage
  13. Jesus is this the most dysfunctional 89 win team ever? I find it incredibly strange that during a time of intense scrutiny and controversy that Atkins would get up there and stir the pot up even more. Cracks are showing, its not a good look at all. Something need to give.
  14. ok it didnt work but if you want to believe Berrios was going to flame out and yield the same or similar results then go ahead and believe it lol
  15. Thats pretty obvious but it doesnt change the fact that it was a brain dead move. I can see the logic, but IMO the plan needs to be scrapped when you see how Berrios is pitching.
  16. It didnt work. Kikuchi came in and allowed Berrios' walk to score and allowed a run of his own. Those two runs were the difference in the game. It also completely changed the tone, feel and energy of the game. Berrios was bringing electricity. Everyone including the players I bet thought they had no chance to lose the way he was pitching. The way he got pulled so early was so deflating there is no way the players didn't feel it as well.
  17. My takeaways/Things I learned: - Winning 89 games by means of pitching and defense is far less entertaining then the previous Jays teams of the last few years who just crushed the ball. - It seems breaking up the Barrio and taking on this serious mantra had some sort of negative effect on the comradery of the team. Just didn't seem to have as much drive and passion on offense. - Said pitching and defense was awesome but the offense fell so hard off a cliff we didn't have a chance. - Moreno is better than Varsho never mind Moreno and Gurriel Jr. - The full on analytical approach is beyond dumb if your not going to leave any room for conventional feel and intuition in the game. Berrios should have been left in and the Kikuchi plan should have been scrapped based on how Berrios looked. Huge Huge Huge Loss for Atkins and his precious analytics team. - I am officially out on Atkins even though we have been a 85-95 win team for 4 straight years. Im just done. Breaking up the Barrio, Varsho trade, and the analytics thing is enough.
  18. The most unenjoyable 88 win team I have ever seen, with an utter embarrassing showing in the playoffs for a 2nd year straight, and an epically controversial decision to go with analytics and remove a pitcher who looked unhittable after 40 pitches is just a nice little cherry on top.
  19. Why cant this team just lose quietly, they have to lose in the some of the biggest, most embarrassing, twitter trending ways possible. Two f***ing years in a row!
  20. Breaking up the barrio, trading Moreno and Guriel for Varsho, and now this analytic driven approach with no willingness to change plans when Berrios was showing elite form is enough for me to say im fully out on Atkins no matter what else he has done.
  21. Well that was one of the most depressing winning seasons of any sport team that I follow. I think we learned a team that wins through pitching and defense is boring as f***. Also you actually need a decent offense to hit good pitching in the playoffs.
  22. Thats exactly the outcome I think most people foreseen coming lol
  23. You cant explain problems away with bad luck. Its crazy how much fans use bad luck as an excuse. Berrios was dealing, it looked like he could have went 8 with 0 allowed today. Going so hard with the analytics is a dumb approach. As soon as Berrios showed who he was today that whole f***ing plan should have been thrown out. Thats on the organization not bad luck
  24. Id be very interested to hear some of the big homers and Atkins apologists take on this one.
