  1. Yes, the Jays should fallen over with their legs in the air and gave Vladdy whatever he wanted while he was busy declining at the plate for three straight years, struggling to control his weight in his early 20's, degrading into one of the worst defensive 1Bs in MLB and constantly making stupid costly mistakes like getting picked off 2nd base as the trail runner (and potential tying run) in an elimination game that officially ended their season with a red hot hitter at the plate. The guy has more red flags than a Chinese communist party parade and some of you act like it was ALWAYS a cut and dry easy decision to just throw hundreds of millions of dollars at him.
  2. I do wonder with the rumors of the Jays being close to signing Alonso and also still in on Bregman, if they were to somehow miraculously get both signed, maybe the next step would be to trade Vladdy with 1B and 3B filled going forward. I'm sure they would love to keep Vlad, but maybe not for $450 million + I still love the idea of Vientos, Williams and a couple upper minor SP prospects from the Mets, especially if the Jays have secured Alonso, Bregman and another SP like Sherzer or Flaherty
  3. 1. Bo SS 2. Vlad 1B 3. Alonso DH 4. Santander LF 5. Bregman 3B 6. Springer LF 7. Kirk C 8. Giminez 2B 9. Varsho CF Yes please
  4. If the Jays got Alonso tonight, I wonder if they'd still be in on Bregman... That'd be awesome. I don't give a s*** how much money they spend.
  5. Jesus christ why is it always like this? Like pulling teeth for Toronto to be anybodies first choice.
  6. Hopefully true. Another masher would be great for the line up. If Bo bounced back and they could have 6 guys with 20+ home runs, and 3 of those have hit 40+
  7. Watch, 2025 will feature a huge bounce back from the pen, an offense that's actually half decent, but the rotation will just crater the season into oblivion.
  8. The guy had a melt down yesterday and it spread to about 10 threads. He even made a new thread to continue his hissy fit.
  9. Yeah that would work too. The thought of Varsho, Kim and Giminez up the middle of the diamond is intriguing.
  10. Dude. The original idea in my post was about signing Kim. He's the one I put at SS, and he is also a high end defender.
  11. How much time is Kim supposed to miss? Sign Kim, trade Bo, sign Alonso.. When healthy: C - Kirk 1B - Alonso / Vlad 2B - Giminez 3B - Vlad / Clement SS Kim LF Santander CF Varsho RF Springer DH - Wagner Bench - Bethancourt or Heineman / Clement / Straw / Jiminez Trade a couple Buffalo boys for relief arms if possible. Scherzer would be nice to round out the SP as well.
  12. Yes please. We'd probably be lucky to get 100 IP out of him, but I have no doubt they'd be high quality innings, and there is still upside there if he does stay healthy, despite his age.
  13. This is why to me Vientos as part f the return for Vlad (if traded) makes a ton of sense. Plus add a 2-3 of their top 5-10 prospects. Then take some of the money that would have been earmarked for Vlad and go guns a blazing for Bregman. Maybe you even still try to snag Alonso too, even if you plan to play Vientos at 1B. Bregman/Alonso/Vientos/2-3 prospects instead of Vlad at $450 million. Then look to trade a couple of Schneider/Clement/Loperfido for relievers with some control.
  14. It was said that Yates had signed with the Dodgers, but on fangraphs he's still listed as unsigned. I'd love the Jays to get him if he's still available. My next pick would be Carols Estevez.
  15. Boss Atkins lmao 🤣
  16. I like to make sure I thumbs down all his posts because I know it'll drive the drama queen crazy
  17. This all feels like the Jays being used for leverage once again.
  18. Could be fun to sign Alonso on a discounted type of deal. Jays might be in the running for the most home runs if Bo bounces back. Maybe 3 guys hit 40+ dingers?
  19. Let's do Bregman with deferred money now. Biggest hole left now is 3B, Bregman would be a pretty large upgrade on Clement. Then maybe you look to trade Clement for a solid reliever?
  20. Hopefully Roden steps up at some point this season and forces his way into a OF position and pushes Santander into more of a DH role, assuming we don't sign an actual DH. As bad as Straw's contract is, it might be good to have him kicking around as a defensive replacement and base running option.
  21. Hopefully Santander becomes the DH for this team early next season and then remains the DH for the duration of the contract.
  22. And that's if he doesn't lose his launch angle again and spend half his remaining prime years grounding into easy double plays.
  23. Yet some around here claim the Mets wouldn't want to give up Vientos alone for Vlad lol It sucks, but lotto tickets like that is usually all you get in big deals like this. You just have to hope the FO knows what it's doing and can take those lottery tickets and make something out of one or two of them and also use the freed up salary room wisely too. Unfortunately the front office isn't inspiring much confidence these days.
