    I wonder why Trevor Rosenthal hasn't signed anywhere yet? If he's healthy and looks decent the Jays should be all over him. Unless he only wants a closer role I guess.

    Here's to hoping that Jansen and Gurriel don't suck at hitting for the first couple months, and hopefully Vladdy's ST ground ball % doesn't carry over.

    I don't blame Semien but screw him anyways. I don't know whatbthe Jays were offering but I'm sure it was plenty of money and he would have had multiple legit shots at winning championships. Imagine him still at 2B for the Jays right now? I hope he never even plays a playoff game with the Rangers.

    The Jays are a contender, but one nice thing is that this isn't a one year deal. Jays will get two legit cracks at it with this roster if they want, as the only guys that are free agents after this season are Phelps and Stripling. Meanwhile guys like Moreno, Martinez and Groshans will be inching closer and closer to making an MLB impact as well.

    Of course it is, but the Jays kept the relievers that performed well last season, and replaced a few of the dog s*** ones with guys who then also performed well last season. Then you have total wildcards like Merryweather and Phelps who struggled with injuries and should help if they can stray healthy. I'm just saying it looks improved on paper, but yes many things could go wrong for sure.

    He fell down some stairs and started the season on the IL Even still, he was not really expected to do what he did coming off 2-3 years of terrible performance.

    Also, the bullpen we started with last season was: Romano Dolis Borucki Chatwood Phelps Merryweather Mayza Thornton Payamps Doils, Chatwood and Payamps replaced by Cimber, Richards and Garcia. It's not great, but is improved and should be solid enough.

    Agreed. The Jays also started the season with Roark and Zeuch in their rotation, Ryu started the season as the Jays 'ace' yet by the end of the season he was their worst starter. They had three different "home" venues throughout the season, and IIRC they also played two "home" games in Washington?? Lot of things contributed to them missing the playoffs, yet they still managed to win 91 games.

    Hopefully the Jays can pick up Rosenthal. Obviously he's far from a sure thing, but if he stays healthy the guy is all about missing bats. He probably wants to be a closer, but maybe he'll want to chase a title.

    Yeah no point in trading for BP help now. Kimbrel was unhittable last year with the Cubs, gets traded to the White Sox and sucks ass. Now they've already moved him out. I wanted another historically effective BP arm or two signed in free agency, like McHugh for example. But too late now for that.

    Man, imagine having both Orelvis and Moreno kicking down the door to MLB this season. If Biggio has a bounce back and Espinal adds some pop to his repertoire the Jays will have Rays type problems to deal with this season. Pretty easy to shore up any holes that you see on your roster if you have those type of "problems" to deal with.
