Frasso was also promoted to Vancouver (in case you missed it)
It's so nice to have a bunch of really good to elite level pitching prospects to follow instead of just one or two that you hope their arms don't fall off.
Lol the two pitchers the Rays added to replace the guys they had to leave behind have better AAA numbers than any pitcher the Jays have in AAA.
High K guys with low walk rates and low xFIPs
I don't know f*** all about them but I bet at least one of them comes in throwing an easy 98 with some sort of wipe out secondary.
The Jays AL ranks are:
wRC+ - 3rd
SLG - 2nd
OBP - 2nd
Offensive fWAR - 2nd
Position player fWAR - 3rd
And that's after a pretty bad start to the season.
They're fine as a group IMO.
I'm all for upgrades if possible (I want Correa this off season), but I wouldn't be too worried about any of their starters. Not really any big holes in there.
The bench OF's are not good, the bullpen is not good, and two of the starters are not good (but could be if they get their s*** together)
The good news is that this time last year the Jays were on pace for 84 wins (0.519%) and right now they're on pace for 90 wins (0.560%) so they are not only ahead of the game, but there is also more playoff spots. If they can get it all together again and go on a solid run in the second half they should be able to win 95+ games.
Oh s***, well which way will Tiedemann go from here?
The way of Nate Pearson, or the way of Alek Manoah?
He's way younger than those two were when they became highly touted pitching prospects.
Well, well, well....Mr Pardinho was moved to Dunedin and pitched today.
2 IP, 0 hits, 0 walks, 0 runs, 3 K's, 20 pitches, 13 strikes
Stay healthy there young fella
Fair enough.
I wonder if 100 miles Giles arm will hold up, I see he is back now. He could be a nice pick up if he's still good, and Seattle doesn't crawl back into the playoff race.
I just don't know how they're supposed to fix the bullpen mid season in a cost efficient way. They could spend assets to get a couple decent relievers and then those relievers could come in and f***ing blow chunks and start costing us games right away.
Brad Hand was a piece of s*** last year for us and now he has 0.7 fWAR so far this season.
Richards was awesome for us last year and now he's completely useless when healthy.
Even Cimber the FIP beater has been getting knocked around lately.
Kimbrel is an elite closer went from the Cubs to the White Sox and sucked balls. Now he's good again LA.
Going to have to get lucky for this pen to get turned around. Hopefully some solid internal options emerge.
Only two Jays position players with a negative fWAR so far this season.
Zimmer -0.3
Tapia -0.8
Biggio 0.7 fWAR now with a 116 wRC+
I get that Tapia hasn't been a completely useless bag of s*** for the last month or so, but I'd say it's time to funnel any Tapia playing time over to Biggio.
23 year old 2021 11th round pick Trenton Wallace continues to own A ball.
Started and went 4 innings today, and gave up no hits, no runs, 1 walk and 6 K's. 68 pitches, 46 strikes
Season stats, 12.62 K/9 - 2.78 BB/9 - 1.26 ERA - 2.95 xFIP - 0.76 WHIP in 35.2 innings
