  1. Yeah, sub par wasn't a good description, my bad. Very mediocre is more appropriate I guess. Leaves me wanting more, especially with his unspectacular offense this season.
  2. Well s***, he has options? Then send him the f*** down. He can refuse? Well s***, again. It's quite the problem that they need to solve. If Castillo continues to pitch like he did today they can't really justify trotting Kikuchi out there every 5th game anymore.
  3. Kind of sick of Bo and his sub par defense, especially true when he's only bringing a barely above league average bat. If Correa opts out of his contract next off season the Jays need to quit f***ing around go hard after him. If Bo doesn't want to move off short then he can be a trade chip IMO.
  4. How else is he supposed to sort it out?
  5. Nice. Now do that with Tiedemann and then bump Frasso up to A+
  6. Must have been a bad cramp lol It's been almost 3 weeks and still nothing but crickets. they probably said it was a cramp, but more likely something more serious I'm thinking.
  7. Yeah, I kind of agree, the only reason I can see to add a starter like that right now would be to hedge against injuries I guess. Part of me wants them to add a Montas/Castillo type SP, but another part of me would rather they hold onto their bullets so they can make a legit play for a true difference maker should one suddenly become available, like Shohei Ohtani for example. Of course, that's the pie in the sky, unicorn type pipe dream, but if an actual ace SP were to hit the market you'd hate for the Jays to have already blown their wad by adding another Berrios. Guys like Montas and Castillo will be free agents in a year and a half. Wait and try to sign them if you want them down the road, but for now I'm kind of OK rolling with Manoah/Gausman/Berrios plus whichever other starters they have to round out the rotation. Stripling has been solid, Kikuchi might figure it out and be more consistent in a good way, maybe Tiedemann pulls a "Manoah" and is in the Jays rotation by June next year. Or maybe Frasso does.
  8. Highway robbery would mean the Jays gave up something for nothing. They pretty much gave up nothing for nothing in that trade.
  9. Yeah no kidding, I was wondering the same thing. I read that his showcase ended with him getting a hamstring cramp but I really hadn't heard any other news about it and was like three weeks ago now.
  10. I don't see them making any "big" pen acquisitions. They will probably eventually give Hernandez/Eisert a promotion, and aside from that they will make cheap acquisitions for the bullpen.
  11. Biggio 124 wRC+ Espinal 99 wRC+ What a turn around there. Luckily Espinal provides solid defensive value. Of course Montoyo bats him f***ing lead off during his coldest stretch of the season. How about putting the guy with a .373 OBP (.432 OBP since he came back from AAA on May 26th) in the lead off spot you f***ing simpleton?
  12. Just in reference to up and coming Jays arms in the system: Some are hopeful starters and some are straight up relievers, but it'll be interesting to watch and see if any of these guys end up as useful future high leverage bullpen pieces. 1. Nick Frasso - (23) - 14.54 K/9 - 2.91 BB/9 - 2.21 xFIP - (A) 2. Ricky Tiedemann - (19) - 14.09 K/9 - 3.02 BB/9 - 2.29 xFIP - (A, A+) 3. Dahian Santos - (19) - 15.71 K/9 - 5.09 BB/9 - 2.87 xFIP - (A) 4. Jimmy Burnette - (23) - 17.78 K/9 - 5.27 BB/9 - 2.89 xFIP - (A+, AA) 5. Conor Larkin - (23) - 11.63 K/9 - 3.74 BB/9 - 3.00 xFIP - (A, A+) 6. Yosver Zulueta - (24) - 13.63 K/9 - 3.53 BB/9 - 3.00 xFIP - (A, A+) 7. Brandon Eisert - (24) - 11.28 K/9 - 2.39 BB/9 - 3.00 xFIP - (AAA) 8. Braden Scott - (24) - 14.10 K/9 - 3.90 BB/9 - 3.06 xFIP - (A, A+, AA) 9. Trenton Wallace - (23) - 12.51 K/9 - 2.54 BB/9 - 3.14 xFIP - (A) 10. Connor Cooke - (22) - 12.46 K/9 - 3.12 BB/9 - 3.29 xFIP - (A) 11. Adrian Hernandez - (22) - 12.75 K/9 - 3.75 BB/9 - 3.34 xFIP (AA, AAA) Lots of 22-24 year old guys performing right now, that you hope will move up to AAA/MLB in the next year or so. And there are still other guys to keep an eye on like Robberse, Ohashi, Kloffenstein, Dallas, Juenger, Danner, Palmer, etc Hopefully some of this s*** sticks to the wall.
  13. Zulueta: 5 IP, 3 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks, 5 K's, 79 pitches, 48 strikes Tomorrow is Ricky "Friday" Tiedemann day
  14. Absolutely. I'd much rather see DJ go to the NL, but if Houston is offering the best return....
  15. Jays lead the league in catcher fWAR (3.6) and wRC+ (139) Teams that are playoff contenders who have s***** catcher fWAR 30th - Houston (-0.9) 25th - St. Louis (-0.3) 24th - Tampa (-0.2) 23rd - NY Mets (0.0) 20th - Cleveland (0.0) I don't see the Jays trading Moreno or Kirk, but if you take Jansen and package him up with Groshans (blocked) and a decent lower minors pitching prospect (Chad Dallas level) you should be able to snag a pretty decent MLB arm from one of these teams if they have a surplus.
  16. Fun and games in the AL east. 9 games above .500 11 games out of first place 2 games away from being in fourth place
  17. Yeah Ohtani is super interesting and is a piece that good vault the Jays from good to great. Of course, he could do that for a lot of teams.
  18. Yes yankees have historic season but don't care. they Trade their best Player anyways in midst of MVP type season That's what yankees do usually no question
  19. Not with our manager, you're right. Good point. Adrian would be DHing while Kirk sits, and then playing RF
  20. Gotta be getting close to seeing Eisert or Hernandez no? Eisert - 11.28 K/9 - 2.39 BB/9 - 3.01 xFIP Hernandez - 12.60 K/9 - 3.16 BB/9 - 3.03 xFIP Although I guess they brought Shaun Anderson up to the taxi squad lol
  21. Boy how good would Jose Ramirez look on this team right about now? I wonder what the asking price was...
