  1. Probably never happen, but boy would it be nice if the Angels just kept up their massive downward spiral and decided to start selling off pieces for a rebuild. Jays could offer some nice pieces for Ohtani and then work on extending him. Much needed left handed bat and basically add an ace to the top of the rotation.
  2. Yeah, if he could play anywhere else on the diamond it would be nice. Moreno, I'm sure, could play many other positions but so far he looks like a complete friggin stud behind the plate.
  3. What is Jansen's worth? 27 year old starting catcher who can hit and has two years of arb left... Can they get a decent starter for him straight up. Marquez or Castillo type, or is that not even close?
  4. I would say Moreno is the catcher of the future. Kirk is awesome, but Moreno is just so damn athletic. But I would keep both for a while and let them alternate C/DH but the Jays use the DH for the endless rest day rotation and seem hesitant to have the back up catcher already in the starting line up. I like Jansen too, but I'd say the farthest he makes it as a Jay now is next off season. Decent chance he's dealt this summer in a package for another starter IMO.
  5. You guys all realize that Big BlueJay is JuniorFelix54 right?
  6. Ok, but maybe they should see if his luck turns around when it's 10-1 and not when it's 4-3?
  7. lol I would love to privy to the info that led to those piss poor decisions But yeah, let's keep trotting Richards out there more than any other reliever this season, it's been working great Especially in close games
  8. No need for Votto. Vlad takes the lions share of 1B (as he should) and the DH is a revolving door that already doesn't get enough AB's for a guy like Kirk.
  9. I'll blame whoever the f*** I want. Should have used Richards in the 10-1 game and a fresh Cimber in the close game. Any idiot should be able to figure that s*** out. It's not hard. Unfortunately our manager isn't just any idiot. He's an exceptional one.
  10. Yeah and I'm telling you that is not a very good reason because losing by 1 run is not the same as losing by 5 or 6 or 10 runs. If a good pitcher comes in and stops the bleeding maybe the Jays come back last night, instead they end up in an even bigger hole thanks to our f***ing dumb manager burning one of our best relievers in a 10-1 game and using one of our worst in a 1 run game in high leverage.
  11. They were losing by one f***ing run you moron
  12. You don't have to have a f***ing lead to use good pitchers. You should use them when the game is close whether you're winning or losing. 10-1 lead, good time to use Richards who has sucked ass this year
  13. Couldn't use Cimber tonight since he pitched last night with a 10-1 lead lol So use Richards instead. Of all our relievers still on the roster, Richards has been the worst. Guess which reliever has pitched the most innings? Yep. Richards Charlie is a genius
  14. 6 up 6 down on 20 pitches against f***ing Lyles? Stop that. Stop that right f***ing now Jays
  15. Right now you run with what you have: Berrios Gausman Stripling Manoah Kikuchi Stretch out Pearson in AAA If someone else gets hurt look at Pearson, Hatch, Castillo or other realistic internal options. Meanwhile, kick tires on Marquez, Castillo, Mahle, Montas, Quintana etc and look for a deal...
  16. Ryu headed for surgery, done for the year (at least)
  17. I wonder what Quintana would cost to acquire? I highly doubt he finishes the season with the Pirates.
  18. Yea I agree. I have no problem rolling with Manoah/Gausman/Berrios/Stripling/Kikuchi if no more starter injuries occur. No need to spend HQ assets to add another high end starter IMO, but maybe pay a much lower price to add a depth starter if the belief is Pearson/Hatch/Kay/Lawrence/Castillo aren't enough to cover that part of it.
  19. After last nights game: 1. Springer / 144 wRC+ 2. Bichette / 115 wRC+ 3. Vladdy / 131 wRC+ 4. Kirk / 145 wRC+ 5. Teo / 97 wRC+ (185 wRC+ in June) 6. Espinal / 121 wRC+ 7. Gurriel / 108 wRC+ (199 wRC+ in June) 8. Chapman / 93 wRC+ 9. Biggio / 108 wRC+ (174 wRC+ since returning) Also Jansen with a 150 wRC+ Team is f***ing stacked just like we thought/hoped. Even that turd Tapia has a 146 wRC+ in June Zimmer though...lol *one of these things is not like the others*
  20. Part of me thinks that if Ryu is out not only this season, but also next, that the Jays will try to replace him via trade. But then the other side of me thinks they might believe his spot could be filled much more cheaply with an internal option. Castillo is right there at AAA, Pearson might actually figure it out and stay healthy, Zulueta and/or Tiedemann could easily continue to move up fast with their elite/advanced stuff. I can't wait to see how they play this.
  21. With Bednar being only 27, putting up high end to elite numbers for multiple years now and also having 4 more years of control AFTER this season, it sure would be tempting. I can't see this FO doing that though, and with the volatility of relievers I can't blame them.
  22. I do see how Groshans might be seen as expendable though. He's in AAA but blocked by Chapman this year and next, and coming right behind him in AA is Orelvis who is more highly touted. Both projected to be 3B at the MLB level.
  23. Wow 19 hits lol Vladdy hit 3 balls with over 110mph exit velocity
