  1. A little depressing, but what will sting more is when Springer signs with the Mets. Or maybe the Padres now, ffs.
  2. If we fail on Kim, I like the idea of signing Didi to a 2-year deal. He checks all of your boxes I want nothing to do with Lindor this year. Next year, yes. I really want Springer, though. I am sure the Jays would have to toss in one more year than every other team.
  3. What could the Jays have offered? Manoah, Jansen + 2 top 20? I think I make that trade.
  4. Not signing Darvish back then legit depressed me for a few weeks.
  5. With trades I usually get 4-5 Tweets immediately. Don't get me wrong, I check here first things every AM, but Twitter is amazing for the baseball freaks. Instant info.
  6. Lindor is awesome, but I want nothing to do with a rental. And I am 99% sure he won't sign an extension now. To lose 2-3 great prospects for one year of Lindor just doesn't do it for me.
  7. Yet, IIRC, he played some SS for the Jays during his stint with us and didn't look terrible. I have not gone to Fangraphs to see his metrics playing there
  8. That is such a great point. I forgot that he had knee problems. If he has played in St. Louis his whole career I wonder if he may be in the HOF.
  9. Steamer has Grichuk (1.7) worth more WAR than JBJ (1.4) in 2021. I agree with your hot take.
  10. I think both guys were like 40 or 45. Certainly not 50.
  11. A 36-year catcher in year 5 of the contract should still be performing okay. And by that point, ideally, you have a young buck ready to play full time and then the vet can DH/C/backup. Or be traded.
  12. Just bring in "Crash" Davis to harness that s***.
  13. If we sign him, I wonder if we could then trade a couple of our catching prospects for pitching.
  14. I am still hoping he can be successful. It has been a couple years since I checked, but IIRC he was topping 98 mph.
  15. Even in normal years there were some situations that were head scratchers. Ugh, damn my old man brain, but there was a journeyman INF who had a great year a few years ago, and turned down a QO, and never came close to that again. And now he may be out of baseball. Or close. s*** I will need to do some Googling.
  16. I am with you. I don't want to trade 2-3 prospects for one year of anyone. What was done with Dickey was smart, get a 24-48 hour window to negotiate an extension, and make the trade. Of course, don't do this for another Dickey (ugh).
  17. As bad contracts go, that is probably one of the better bad contracts in baseball.
  18. Wow. What a great deal. I saw this and thought, man they are going to spend this year. Like really spend. I guess we will see. But this is nothing but good.
  19. I thought Groshans was earmarked for 3B, doesn't he have a stronger arm? Bichette to 2B maybe? And when/where does Martin fit in?
  20. I agree, but with the pressure off to win or else, I think they sweep this series. playing loosey goosey.
  21. Everything was methodical? What does that even f***ing mean? You are being a douche, mate.
  22. Wow, what an awesome way to clinch. Dolis threw some very awesome sliders tonight.
  23. When you have to talk for 2+ you're not always going to be spitting out gems.
