  1. I dunno about everything you said; the Jays FO has pretty much said exactly that, that innings limits are stone age numbers. If metrics dip, it's either a tell that the other teams are exploiting or fatigue/injury. Pretty simple.
  2. 10/350M is probably pretty close. Yikes, big number, and he will be probably done by year 7 or 8, but the WAR and PR gain on Boston is fantastic during the years he plays. #baberuth On a different topic, when will MLB f***ing realign the divisions? I hate that the Jays play the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays 115% of the time. ********.
  3. It's funny you made a thread about this because in my mind it makes sense and I have been saying they should do this for a while. I think the Jays go after him hard. It's removing 5+ WAR from Boston and giving TO the WAR and PR. It's a no brainer.
  4. I am honestly of the opinion f*** innings limits. Let 'er buck until the metrics get horrible, and then DL. BTW, Nolan Ryan was a beast, even at 45. He's a freak. I will bet he still throws 80 mph at whatever age he is. That is faster than I throw, and I am 30 and pitch in a mens league
  5. Ballpark ~ 150 inning cap for 2020 do you think? Or go hard the whole season? How many innings would he eat up until he's called up in mid-May?
  6. My hot take is that Thorton had some bad tells, and was getting shelled because of it. He's got decent stuff, and I think Walker and others addressed some of his habits that were allowing batters to sit on pitches. I think he will be a decent mid-rotation starter at the end of the day.
  7. Jesus we got something for Morales? I'd almost extend Atkins just for that.
  8. He's a guy that seems to check almost all the boxes. Except for Tabler's "big, strong guy" criterion. If he is posted, I would really go for him. He seems like a perfectionist, and would never just sit on a fat cat contract.
  9. Hudson is a guy I really like, but at ~ 33 do we really want him? On a cheap 1+1 maybe. He seems like a good dude. May provide that "veteran presence".
  10. Thanks! That was a great listen.
  11. And he, and his agent, are happy campers. I think contracts like this are great ideas, if the timing is right.
  12. Definitely an inner push, but I am also thinking a new org might bring new ideas and tips for Shaw. And because he comes in slumping, I am assuming he'd be very open to any advice to hit the ground running in 2020. He's talented, no doubt. This is a guy who has a slight chance to become one of our best hitters. It's really a great deal for the Jays.
  13. I'd love Puig, for sure, but why would he play in Canada if Miami is offering him a decent contract.
  14. I hope so. I think if you throw him to the wolves he'll initially struggle (in the majors I mean) but then have a solid and straight performance increase as he plays. I just think the Jays should have done that last year in the don't-give-a-s*** year.
  15. It's a solid post.
  16. As long as this FO is fixated on Fisher, or unless there is a trade that culls some of the OF players, there is no way.
  17. I think he may still do well once he's in another organization. I will be cheering for him every time he doesn't play the Jays. He seems very likable and has been definitely snake bitten.
  18. I was soooo pumped when he was acquired. I invited a bunch of friends over to watch his first opening day start as a Blue Jay, it was a bad start. I don't recall the exact score, but he was shelled. That underscores his stay in TO. He was, at times, very effective. But it was frustrating as hell. Trading Thor away was the worst thing AA may have ever done.
  19. I liked Dickey and I think he performed better than some fans give him credit for. Self-awareness is always the toughest hurdle.
  20. By default, just assume I always, *always*, want my Jays to win on every level.
  21. I didn't read that! That is awesome. Being handcuffed financially really suits them. We should not help them one bit.
  22. Depending on how this year goes, it could be plausible. Strike a death blow to Boston, *and* bring in one of the best players in the game. I guess we will see. I'd still be surprised if the Red Sox don't extend him somehow. The Jays can help lessen that chance by not taking on Price's salary. I want nothing to do with Price. Let them stew in their awful contracts I say.
  23. Which is your preference? I only look at Fangraphs, typically. I like their interface more. Also, you're kind of being a dick.
  24. Looking to the future, like 12 months from now, it is conceivable that the FO may take a run at FA players like Betts and Paxton. I wonder what Betts would cost.
