  1. That is UNBELIEVABLY cool. Wow, how did I not hear about this??? Thanks for posting that link. Wow.
  2. That may be the highest spot for Manoah I've seen.
  3. The Jays have added Panik and Dull. Panik seems like a solid signing. Dull is a definite dull move. Anyway, more depth. I like that.
  4. What a dull joke. As in yes, they've signed Dull again! https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/blue-jays-ryan-dull-returning-to-blue-jays/
  5. Joe Panik sounds okay. He bats left, and his splits against righties looks decent. This is old, but here's a scouting report on him. Has lots of tools minus power. They viewed him as a high floor, low ceiling potential super sub. https://baseballprospectnation.wordpress.com/2013/02/21/scouting-report-joe-panik-inf/
  6. If he is needed at SS, that's bad. I think Espinal is next on the depth charts. Him I like. I do not know how to look up Holt's defense at SS specifically.
  7. Would anyone be happy if we signed Brock Holt? It would mean we could option Drury at the very least. I don't have the numbers, but Holt seems to be a persistent Jays killer. And plays every position pretty well. Add to that better than league average offence... He's 31-years old though.
  8. Okay, fair point. But I will say this. It is more likely for Osuna to punch a woman again than for Giles to punch himself in the face again. That's just science.
  9. It is never easy being a whistle blower, and that would go for baseball players. Maybe if baseball instituted a whistle blower policy that protected those players, and provided anonymity...
  10. You wouldn't get this same punishment every time. It would get worse. The team may even forfeit TV revenue, or a full season. It was actually a more extreme punishment than I expected, tbh. But I do think it's fair. I would have liked to seen a $20M fine or something, too. But those draft picks could end up being worth hundreds of millions.
  11. I would sign him, for sure. What's his ETA 2021, or will he be ready for 2020? I've sort of forgotten his issue...shoulder/labrum tear? I know the numbers aren't there, but I still think he would be a sweet bullpen add long term.
  12. Yeah, I like it. I don't think he will be traded in the off-season. And really, for me anyway, we got him for f***ing Osuna, who's a girl beater. We did okay. That was an okay trade considering the toxic nuances. And, on a personal note, I dig Giles. He seems like a guy who will take a bullet for a win.
  13. I will not miss him, but he may be a good bench piece. If given 500 AB I will bet he provides > 1 WAR. On a championship team, he's be a decent bench piece. Great defense and will get the occasional hit. But he has no place on the Jays rosters. On a OF-heavy team, maybe.
  14. Seems like a cool dude. Love it.
  15. I dunno about everything you said; the Jays FO has pretty much said exactly that, that innings limits are stone age numbers. If metrics dip, it's either a tell that the other teams are exploiting or fatigue/injury. Pretty simple.
  16. 10/350M is probably pretty close. Yikes, big number, and he will be probably done by year 7 or 8, but the WAR and PR gain on Boston is fantastic during the years he plays. #baberuth On a different topic, when will MLB f***ing realign the divisions? I hate that the Jays play the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays 115% of the time. ********.
  17. It's funny you made a thread about this because in my mind it makes sense and I have been saying they should do this for a while. I think the Jays go after him hard. It's removing 5+ WAR from Boston and giving TO the WAR and PR. It's a no brainer.
  18. I am honestly of the opinion f*** innings limits. Let 'er buck until the metrics get horrible, and then DL. BTW, Nolan Ryan was a beast, even at 45. He's a freak. I will bet he still throws 80 mph at whatever age he is. That is faster than I throw, and I am 30 and pitch in a mens league
  19. Ballpark ~ 150 inning cap for 2020 do you think? Or go hard the whole season? How many innings would he eat up until he's called up in mid-May?
  20. My hot take is that Thorton had some bad tells, and was getting shelled because of it. He's got decent stuff, and I think Walker and others addressed some of his habits that were allowing batters to sit on pitches. I think he will be a decent mid-rotation starter at the end of the day.
  21. Jesus we got something for Morales? I'd almost extend Atkins just for that.
  22. He's a guy that seems to check almost all the boxes. Except for Tabler's "big, strong guy" criterion. If he is posted, I would really go for him. He seems like a perfectionist, and would never just sit on a fat cat contract.
  23. Hudson is a guy I really like, but at ~ 33 do we really want him? On a cheap 1+1 maybe. He seems like a good dude. May provide that "veteran presence".
  24. Thanks! That was a great listen.
