  1. Our boy Sanchez shows signs of life! Got a homer today. Also Nimmala got three singles and a double in what looks like a crazy win for NH.
  2. Looks like Victor Arias is off rehab and back in double A. That is such an interesting level now. If Arias can show that he can play CF at an acceptable level, he could be a real guy. Ditto, Pinto can stay healthy I think he can be a real guy as well. Also realistically next year at the big league level, there could be opportunities at CF and 2B/Utility. There has never been a better time to mash. Of course they probably could also just be trade bait or eventually bench bats or nothing. You also have Nimmala, Keys, Cates and a collection of other interesting guys.
  3. I personally would not write off Sanchez yet
  4. The fact is that the playoffs are luck in a lot of ways. Even Boston obviously believe that because they keep firing people who won world series. If i'm factoring in everything for the last decade its some combo of la dodgers, yankees, brewers, rays (factoring in difficulty), astros, braves. Probably forgetting a few. This front office has been given i'd say an abnormally long time, but i'd say they've been better the last couple of years than they were at the start. Maybe more teams should give more rope. I thought the red sox were nuts to fire bloom. And cora.
  5. I'd say they'd cut whatever salary they can at the deadline to get under the tax, and then reload next year.
  6. Lopez is one of the only misses of this FO in terms of players leaving. I've been critical of them quite a bit but that is one area i think they excel in (self evaluation of our prospects). McAdoo isn't on the 40 man so it's a bigger decision than either/or. Sosa to some degree is expendable. I think there must be something in terms of approach diversity/ swing diversity they like when adding him in. I also don't think they really trust Davis that much or IKF wouldn't have played so much in the playoffs.
  7. Miles i think only has to be up for 90 days. So, start of july i think you could IL him if he is amenable and still keep him next year. I think...
  8. I think Mantiply as first guy down? Although Yimi when he comes back up could knock on to Nance instead. I honestly right now would go Sosa. Give Schneider some time to heat up in triple A.
  9. I don't see how any of this is relevant. You try to win as many games as possible. It that wins the division, that's nice.
  10. Pinango making it interesting. I'd assume he is down when Barger is back? But he is really making a good impression.
  11. I quite like Sosa. I like having one guy who is a free swinger with pop. I love Schneider's game but if i'm choosing one to option, its him right now. With Heineman, it kind of depends how much you value him knowing the staff so well and what you think of whoever the current 4th guy on the chart is. I think i'd lead Heineman but i'm not sure its that easy a call.
  12. He is going to be the 5th youngest guy in double A. Very excited to see how he goes.
  13. Just saw Pinto is back in double A after rehabbing at low A i think. He seems to get hurt alot but he is one guy who i've seen play a few times in vancouver and i've always just liked him. He's small but has a big league swing imo. He had a homer and walked today.
  14. Nimmala with another homer. He's putting together a really nice season so far, with his OPS up in the 9s as well. Walk rate up a bit, k rate pretty acceptable.
  15. I have never been as wrong about anything as much as the varland trade.
  16. I think Okamoto is still in the adjust stage so if anything i think its encouraging as hell.
  17. Mantiply i'd assume. Lauer replaces him as the leftie in the pen.
  18. There seems to be a bit of a clog when it comes to corner outfielder/first base types that have a decent shot of making the pros. Keys, Tirotta, Micheletti, Pinango, Cunningham, Williams, Shreck all fit that to some degree or another and i'm probably missing some. Age wise Keys if he keeps this up at all, and makes the jump to triple A this year.. he might be the highest upside but i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of that list gets cups of coffee somewhere.
  19. Sean Keys is absolutely f***ing red hot right now. Two more home runs already tonight. Still 22. Is he a guy? Feels like it might be a breakout
  20. Number 1 is the biggest one. I think if you isolated out 20 year olds in high A you'd find better comparisons.
  21. Some guys I haven't thought much about before on absolute heaters to start. Sean Keys, 6 HRs, 200wrc+, still 22 in double A. I know its doubtful he plays third so he is a tough fit, but encouraging. Ditto on Bohrofen with 6 homers but 24 in double A. Not sure if he can actually project in cf Cunningham, Williams and Toman all white hot as well in vancouver.
  22. There is no way that berrios would intentionally lose alot of money to start, even just from the perspective of pissing off the union and other players.
  23. There still is an ideal time to sell though where you might eat less money than other times.
  24. If you are going to trade berrios it needs to be before july 30th i think. After that he has 10-5 rights and a full no trade clause. I think if he is healthy you do that as soon as possible while teams need pitching. I just don't know if a 18 million (24 million next year) long relief is worth it.
  25. The reason to trade him and/or lauer is whether they are the best option for the pen or not. Is Miles better in one inning relief? Is fisher sitting in triple a because berrios needs accomodated even though he hates the pen? There is a possible opportunity cost.
