    What the hell are Houston going to do with Imai?. He has been essentially unplayable this year. You can't even really eat a portion of the money either and trade him. He has opt outs each year.

    Arias is such an interesting prospect. Fangraphs described him as a toolshed who is fringy at cf but could get to average. A really high ceiling.

    Those extra inning and one run game stats are basically just another way to say the rays have been lucky this year so far.

    Yea agreed. But still makes sense to judge each event or game fairly. They still have to own their record obviously.

    That's clement's game in fairness. Varsho really needs to tighten it up, he can't play like this.

    I'd say today's game has been more bad luck than anything. But Varsho seems to be becoming a pumpkin in his contract year which is tough for him.

    I had no idea FCL had started. For some reason it isn't showing up on milb app.

    His exit velocities being down might indicate injury. I've always thought that Vlad has kind of a sub optimal approach masked a bit by an elite eye, and an elite hit tool. He doesn't expand outside the zone but he swings too much inside the zone for me at the wrong pitches. He is so good though that he will still be able to churn out 3/4 win seasons doing it. Like he will get hot again.

    As far as i understand that as long as he is 90 days active, then you can IL him at that point. Which i'm sure he'd be ok with if his form drops or he is starting to feel the sheer number of extra innings from last year. Then you can do whatever next year.

    Lukes last prospect list blurb was 40 fv, 5th outfielder. Clement's is interesting. Longenhagen thought he should have been moved to CF. 40fv bench bat. They were WAY off on his defense in retrospect. So a grade off on Clement and a half grade off on Lukes. I am patting myself on the back a bit because i also see a good CF in clement.

    Bohrofen was big power, swing and miss on soft stuff report i think. He is still not that old. Funnily enough on the fangraphs prospect chat, someone asked what kind of prospect you don't like. And the guy specifically said guys like roden and shreck. I think he said a good approach is not a carrying tool on its own.

    Nimmala got pulled earlyish today. Hopefully nothing major. Arias also tagged a homer against that white hot sox pitching prospect Eyanson.

    Yea i think he just is that kind of hitter. He will get white hot again with this approach with some subtle changes. Its just not as valuable as he could be.

    Its approach. If he couldn't handle pressure he wouldn't have been so good in the playoffs.

    I'd like to see him strike out looking and swinging more. Like just spend a month, trying to be three true outcomes and see what happens. Get the A swing going in every count. Look for a pitch and its fine to strike out if you don't get it

    If Scherzer can come back and be decent, Lauer becomes a leftie reliever. Mantiply has an option... so tbey'll keep lauer i think.

    Think we could stretch miles out next year? Stuff plus thinks he has 4 essentially average pitches. Obviously that might tick down as a starter but he does already do multiple innings. Seems like he could be a 5th starter.

    Walking the only leftie as a lead off is incredibly frustrating.

    Is there any chance Schneider got himself an all rightie line up and now it just going to throw rightie bullpen at it? Lauer was a deke maybe.
