  1. Looks like the giants are interested in trading their big contracts and guys who are expiring.
  2. Dude, we could give them our entire farm, we aren’t getting bobby witt jr.
  3. Lasaracina, the Italian catcher we signed has had a pretty good start in the complex league. He is 22 but it’s also his first shot at pro ball.
  4. Supposedly fringy but he does work really hard at it.
  5. It’s the positional thing that I just can’t see past. Like even if he plays corner outfield, he’s kind of a barger clone. There is so much corner outfield/corner infield power guys in the system, I think some of it will be traded. Hopefully they pick the right ones.
  6. There is absolutely no way I’d trade Vlad. But yea of course, if we are enough games out of the playoffs at the deadline we could sell. I’d guess any reliever with less than two years control, all expirings. So, Gausman, Springer, Varsho, Garcia, Bieber, and then probably guys like Nance. Maybe someone like Jesus Sanchez as well? Might be valuable for a contender and has some control.
  7. The most tantalizing thing about Harry is that he is a true non catcher utility. He has played every position other than third and first this year and seeing as he has played SS loads, presumably with some reps he could play those as well. That obviously could help someone get a spot in a 26 man squad, especially if he is a 50 at SS and CF. I’m pretty skeptical of a guy who basically couldn’t hit forever now being able to hit though. Sean Keys feels trade bait to me? We have so much of that general type of player, or maybe they trade someone like shrek and keep Keys,
  8. I only saw the first 10 mins of the Qatar game. Can’t believe they got a point.
  9. There isn’t any connection, right? That worries the s*** out of me honestly. Like it’s way too reactive. They need to have a conversation with him about the bunts.
  10. I thought the at bats today were not bad generally. Schlittler to a large degree got a bit lucky and the hitters unlucky.
  11. I normally think that managers get blamed too much and front offices too little. But honestly that decision just makes so little sense. It’s almost like he thought the previous double plays were predictive of future ones? That’s not the case, right? I wouldn’t can him but I’d ask him to explain every single bunt from now on rationally. But I would call Alex Cora and see if he’s interested in a job.
  12. Luzardo is a good pitcher imo. Sanchez and Wheeler are both elite though.
  13. Him and Lopez are the two that got away but also understandable. We have so many lefties right now, we will probably lose someone who does well elsewhere as well.
  14. The Phillies might have the three best 1,2,3 starters in baseball, so I’m honestly not too pissed to just get one win.
  15. I’m interested in seeing Luzardo. He’s a FA next year. Possible target.
  16. Also,,, Owen Casey and Sam Shaw, two guys I really liked last year are back. Casey looked really good in a short stint in Vancouver last year.
  17. The minors have been really fun this year as there have just been a lot of good performances and guys popping up. Austin Cates (who I think was tstats sleeper pitcher for our system) has been great over his last three starts. Jay Harry is playing seemingly every position (everything except catcher, 3rd and first) and is having a power explosion. I’m not sure how much I believe that given his history but who knows. His versatility on defense seems useful. Then the complex league team is dominating (they do seem to have had some help from rehabbers playing with them). Guzman is off to a super hot start. Not sure what his deal is other than he is playing second mostly which either means he can’t play short or they have a prospect they like better playing there. He’s 19 as is Owen Gregg, undrafted Canadian also on a heater. Then there is the Italian pitcher Taschin (sp?) who is also killing in the fcl. I wonder if and when they get moved up. Gregg seems blocked positionally somewhat. I also think seeing pinango and Valenzuela perform in the majors has made me pay attention to guys I barely thought about before.
  18. How do you insert twitter links?
  19. They kind of need to wait to see what Max looks like feels like before they make a final decision on Corbin/SWR.
  20. This team is good. The at bats are in the main really good. The pitching is good.
  21. SWR looked pretty good. He might stick as long man in the pen. Miles goes back to one/two inning higher leverage?
  22. I think bigger picture I’m liking the type of guys we are drafting. At the end of the day you kind of need to draft or trade for CFs. There aren’t many in free agency who are above average there, I’m happy we are getting some athletes.
  23. I’d say both of them will make the league in some capacity just because 4th outfielders are useful, especially with speed and defense. But yea, the chances of him like being valuable… I dunno. I don’t know if I believe age to level ALWAYS especially when he really hasn’t been in pro ball much yet but we’ll see how it goes.
