  1. Its a combo of under performance and injuries but also this many one run losses has a luck aspect as well. That last vlad at bat... all talent, zero approach. Its not acceptable.
  2. I could see the front office being annoyed at the bunt decision, and the swing decisions generally. They are not going to give a crap about the bullpen decision. Every team does that.
  3. The absolute most important thing that has to happen is get better swing decisions. Everyone. I don't know how you incentivize it or make it happen, but that Rays team we played makes Bednar get in the zone.
  4. That 9th inning is everything wrong with this team. Terrible swing decisions and a more of the dumb ass bunting. Very frustrating.
  5. That is a managerial decision i hate. Just let the catcher with pop f***ing swing.
  6. Yea it can't really be a leftie, and not hoffman or yrod, and fisher has already pitched.. and miles obviously can't pitch... so basically this board will only be ok with varland and rogers and it has to be them EVERY time.
  7. Then cut him. Everyone in the bullpen needs to be able to pitch in that spot.
  8. If you don't know what you have to the extent that you just can't put him in games, then he needs to be cut. It is not reasonable for managers to act like they expecy someone to absolutely blow up like this.
  9. I don't see why bringing in YRod was this terrible decision. He just does not have it tonight which isn't something anyone can predict.
  10. What is their top 20 if you are ok sharing it?
  11. He is 60% above league average offensively so he is ready to go back up again, but yea its a profile that has to rake. Its also a profile we seem to have a lot of in the farm. P
  12. Maybe pitch Mantiply today and then swap in Macko tomorrow?
  13. From the latest Fangraphs chat on Nolan Perry. "Looks really good. Slipped thru the crack on the Jays list because he didn’t pitch last year. Prototypical frame, gorgeous arm action, advanced feel (for a guy coming off long term layoff, especially), love he breaking ball feel. Think the curveball is deep enough for it to play against lefties even if his change is only ever fine. Potential end of year top 100 guy if the innings count ends up around 100 frames." https://blogs.fangraphs.com/eric-longenhagen-prospects-chat-5-15-2026/
  14. Stanifer had a good start today in the first game of the doubleheader. Hopefully he can string a few together. Pitched 5 innings, 1 earned off 4 hits, with 2 walks and 9 ks.
  15. His bat speed is exactly the same almost as last year.
  16. I love Bo still. Really hope he turns it around. He came off an injury that would typically keep someone out and hit what would have been one of the biggest homers in franchise history if hoffman doesn't melt down. I only hope the best for him.
  17. I love their ballpark so looking forward to these. Wish we had one with similar dimensions field wise.
  18. This is a bit out there, but the As released Junior Perez. They presumably need the 40 man space as he does have options. He's a real CF with big exit velo who is scuffling bad in triple A. We have an open spot. Grab him and see if you can fix him in triple A? CF is a need next year. If it doesn't work out, its an easy cut.
  19. Well Roki is making the minimum which helps a ton. But yea this season is looking like a disaster for houston.
  20. Man Perry shoved again. 5 IP/ 3H/ 0 R/ 3 BB/ 10 K He ran into to some trouble in the 5th, gave up a double and then lost the zone a bit walking two guys. But got out of it with a K and a flyout. I really need to make it a priority to see him and King before they get promoted.
  21. What the hell are Houston going to do with Imai?. He has been essentially unplayable this year. You can't even really eat a portion of the money either and trade him. He has opt outs each year.
  22. Arias is such an interesting prospect. Fangraphs described him as a toolshed who is fringy at cf but could get to average. A really high ceiling.
  23. I think you have to use Hoffman here or just cut him.
  24. Those extra inning and one run game stats are basically just another way to say the rays have been lucky this year so far.
