  1. I honestly thought that was a pretty well played game where nothing dropped when we needed it to.
  2. I think the at bats today have generally been good. Not a lot of luck in sequencing.
  3. Fluharty had 19 pitches which is a pretty normal outing. Lee needs to come in and especially not walk a guy immediately.
  4. Oof that's rough... Lee would never be in there if Cease wasn't hurt.
  5. what you lose is the 40 man spot. Right now you can wait to see if its worth protecting him in the rule 5 season end.
  6. I don't know if we need Kasevich's profile. If Gimenez or Clement went down maybe.
  7. I would say they will probably option Pinango again. But while I doubt you could trade Sanchez straight up for a rightie bat, there must be a team that needs leftie hitting. Try to get prospects that are not on the 40 but closeish.
  8. Dan didn't seem excited enough for a homer but yea camera guy was on shenanigans there.
  9. I subscribe to a substack called Down on the Farm. Its well worth the money, they do a lot of cool research on prospects (they had a great article on breakouts vs age in triple A for example) but only do hitters, i think because they believe that mlb orgs are so ahead of the public on pitching that its basically pointless. Anyway, they have an analytical model that populates their rankings, and the three best jays are interesting. Nimmala (extremely high on Nimmala, top 10 overall), Pinto and Dub Gleed. I obviously wouldn't buy fully into any one ranking but I wouldn't doubt that the jays have a similar model because pinto and gleed are guys they got in trade.
  10. Feels like we need a trade for a right handed hitter. The Sosa experiment probably could end. Not sure what's out there though
  11. Miles seems to be able to locate the curve really well. Either for called strikes early or in the dirt late. If he can sit 96/97 with that, its a pretty good package. 4 average pitches, good command. Its a starter.
  12. Great win, what a performance by the pitching staff. Its looking more and more like we found a back end starter in the rule 5.
  13. Yea i think you must be right
  14. I just noticed something somewhat odd... Nimmala isn't the youngest jay in double A. David Guzman was promoted a couple of days ago. Aged 20, did two years in the DSL and complex, and then this year a short stint in complex, a short stint at low A and then straight to double A. Anyone heard of him? He's now the 5th youngest guy in AA.
  15. Honestly, 3-4 road swing isn't terrible. So its all gravy today.
  16. Jay Harry is kind of going crazy in double A. Not sure if he is a dude or not. He seems young enough and plays a ton of positions.,, unsure how well. He was the trevor richards trade. Alexis Hernandez for vancouver is also going nuts recently. He was a minor league rule 5 guy i think.
  17. He's at 36 innings, Not sure what he would top out at first year back from injury, but maybe try for 4/5 AA starts before shutting him down?
  18. Hoffman with runners on base... i feel like he walks rosario for sure.
  19. If he was ernie clement, that's fine. But i want slug.
  20. Vlad half swinging at pitch one is for a sac fly is fine but still kind of maddening.
  21. The actual ball he put in play was great. That was unlucky. But what the hell was he doing on strike 2? Why is he protecting the plate on strike 2 on a fastball up and away, when you can tell that he is not looking for a pitch to drive oppo from his swing? It shows that he just does not have an approach. Every at bat you can tell that its just survival. He isn't hunting pitches.
  22. Its a combo of under performance and injuries but also this many one run losses has a luck aspect as well. That last vlad at bat... all talent, zero approach. Its not acceptable.
