Maybe... I dunno. Leonard is a no doubt max. Butler probably as well. Kyrie has shown he can cook in the finals so him too. Other than that .. I think I’d rather have horford for 4/100 and banking on being bad in the 4th year anyway. Or, you could look at 2 or 3 10m guys.

Because guys with that skill set are expensive in free agency and the lakers won’t have an opportunity to add anyone like that for the next few years probably. If they sign Kyrie or Kemba, what the f*** is Kuzma going to do. He’s just a scorer. On the other hand, you could keep ball, sign someone like horford and that’s the guts of a balanced team. I can see the argument that New Orleans wanted ball, or that they think they have enough shot at Leonard that they needed to do it or whatever. It’s possible that ball never fulfills his potential but you bet on potential not some chucker.

Unless they get Leonard, there isn’t a free agent that they could get that would be a better fit than lonzo + whoever they could get with the rest of the money. If they can get Leonard, obv they are golden.

Boston are apparently leaders for Kemba.

M Well lonzo has three things Kuzma doesn’t have. He can defend multiple spots reasonably well. He’s a great team defender. he’s a fantastic unselfish passer. He also can grow into a role as a guy who can run the offense when lebron is resting. In other words, he fits a lot of the things the lakers desperately need in one person. You have to bet on the shot coming because those other things aren’t abundantly available on the market. Kuzma is everything they don’t need. He’s a scorer and an ok shooter. He can only defend 4s. Ideally, that would be lebron a job in the playoffs. Everything he does is replicated to a way better standard on the roster already. All in all, dude screams ‘gets buckets on bad teams’ to me. Those guys are not useful on good teams because there is always a better option to clear it out and run a pick and roll or an iso. However, guys like lonzo have skills that fit in smaller roles. It’s possible that New Orleans just wouldn’t do it without lonzo but the scuttlebut is that the lakers insisted on keeping Kuzma and to me that seems like a massive mistake.

They should have kept ball and let Kuzma go. He is just a way better fit alongside lebron and Davis.
  7. Yea, the Padres winning the next few games would help us.
  8. The drawback to the draft is that I can see them using it as an opportunity to just pay players even less.
  9. I’m hoping the opposite then. I’d rather not see him til 2021 because f*** the rays.

So, to get away from the un self aware bitching about snowflakes.. free agency thoughts? I saw Marc stein today say Kemba possibly to Boston. Al horford maybe to Dallas. Also, everyone has money this year so lakers might be ducked if they can’t get a marquee guy. I kind of like Kyrie out of nowhere to the lakers even tho ppl think nets.
  11. I think you can write those off as aberrations or you have to or you would swing at literally everything. Losing all the 50/50 ones means that you just have to expand your zone which might be more damaging? I dunno.
  12. Does vlad ever get a borderline strike/ball decision his way. It’s first pitch, just a little outside and it’s called every f***ing time.
  13. Listened to this getting ready and on way to work. Great stuff!
  14. Not sure how to link from Reddit app but the guy said he heard it on baseball central. Mild groin strain.
  15. I saw something on Reddit said mild pulled groin.
  16. Bo went 4 of 5 today with a double and Alford 2 of 5 with a triple. Things are looking rosier recently and I’m liking it.
  17. San Diego winning right now. Let’s hope they roll a few wins off and want to trade us some prospects.
  18. There’s an interesting article on the athletic about how the Texas rangers scrapped their pitcher usage system where they shut down draftees. It turned out to be counter productive. There’s just so much we don’t know about how to approach pitcher usage it seems.
  19. Has gurriel ever played Center field? His arm looks good enough.
  20. I don’t think vlad is chasing but he might be better taking some strikes that he can’t drive. Honestly though, it just seems like bad luck.
  21. We are fostering two pups this weekend and I’m watching them play while watching the game. Loving my Sunday so far!
  22. They had that dude locked up years ago. I don’t think it’s possible to steal big money international guys late. I’m basing this on other guys but assuming he’s the same.
  23. Just saw on Reddit, not sure if on here. Pearson on double A IL. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/toronto-blue-jays-nate-pearson-lands-on-double-a-injured-list/c-308372024
  24. I guess I realize that I don’t really like the vast sports articles any more. Or at least I like a very specific type of sports article. I really enjoyed a lot of things grantland used to do (especially anything by Brian philips) but I’m not super interested in a typical article or even investigative stuff. I do read eno sarris and his podcast is excellent as well (rates and barrels). Their prospect coverage sucks though. Overall, it’s probably worth it if i wasn’t so cheap and will get more worth it going forward but I’m thinking I would have got more out of a BA sub. I really like sports articles that make me think in a philosophical way about sport and life. Brian philips had a whole thing on his blog, where he was discovered, on why soccer is the beautiful game and it crystallized something that I felt but could not articulate. He had a similar one on federer that made me understand something that I never realized was amazing before. However, I’m not interested in a hard hitting investigative pieces or whatever. Sorry, I rambled.. Also, I acknowledge that I’m a dumbass for signing up for something I prob wouldn’t use much.
