  1. I'd guess this is unpopular. And as a preamble, i'd say he is a valuable pitcher right now due to his health and inning eating in the regular season. The regular season part is important. But, the trade i would make at the deadline is trading Berrios. He is under the hood declining. By pretty much any underlying stat he is our fourth best pitcher right now, and that is with me assuming that Lauer is over performing. And if i was the gm i'd take probably the last chance off that contract at the deadline. And i'd also want to take it out of the manager's hands whether to start him in a playoff game. All his fastballs are down about a tick this year. He has the 5th lowest xFIP, the 5th lowest xERA, and 5th lowest Sierra. Among starters. He has the worst stuff+ (worse than bowden francis) as basically all his pitches are below average. And a 94 pitching+. This is simply not a guy you want to take the ball in a playoff game and honestly if his velo takes another tick down he could be a problem in the rotation next year. He also has 66m left after this year. I don't want to pay $66m to a guy who rationally shouldn't start a playoff game. He also has a great ERA and years of proof that he can stay healthy. Contending teams will want pitching at the deadline and its possible we could get off this contract. For example, the Angels always need pitching. They are fighting for the playoffs and are willing to run an above average payroll. We could try Berrios for detmers plus other stuff. They would get a starter. We'd get a leverage reliever. Then we can trade prospects for someone who can start a playoff game (expensive) and a back end starter (cheaper). I'd suggest Severino for the first one as he fits into Berrios' money, and he has a truly elite slider, so if he has bad form, he can fit in in leverage in the bullpen come playoffs. The As will also probably want off that contract. Then we could run a rotation of Gausman, Scherzer, Severino, Bassitt, Lauer/back end starter. I don't think this is the kind of move we do, and its possible every other team looks at him and just wants nothing to do with that contract, but i would attempt this at least.
  2. . You have a point with the signing more thing. Is there a legitimate reason not to have two summer league teams?
  3. Is there supposed to be more about Groshans? It seems to cut off.
  4. Jansen turning it around would make me feel a ton better about this season. Especially, when he looks legit behind the plate. That’s a potential building block.
  5. Yeah, Martin and one of those wouldn’t be terrible.
  6. Yea, I think it values control too much basically. The guy who created it was on an episode of effectively wild recently and he gave his rationale there. Basically, it’s a work in progress. The values are based on completed trades seemingly.
  7. Played around with the trade tool a little. It validated Stroman for Martin and Bukauskas from the Astros. Thoughts? They would prob not trade Martin because he is in their rotation it seems.
  8. That’s super encouraging. Him continuing this and Jansen turning it around would put a real shine on this season.
  9. I wonder if guys will start pounding fastball against him. Being able to mash sliders is a great skill in 2019 mlb.
  10. This will sound dumb because it is dumb but drury really looks like he should be good at baseball.
  11. That seems pretty decent. It isn’t a Gleyber Torres type haul but they prob don’t exist any more.
  12. I don't know if anyone listens to effectively wild on here but a few eps ago they interviewed the guy who created the trade tool below. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/ It's pretty fun. It's also pretty conservative which probably reflects how front offices are trending. It's a work in process but fun to f*** around with. It told me that stroman for frazier and perreira was close to fair which seems light to me. I will say that some of the values are off for me.. especially on first basemen.
  13. Devon Travis' purple patch where he was just mashing line drive doubles is one of my favorite periods of any recent jay. Dude could f***ing hit.

Lakers got Dudley. Pretty decent get. Clippers got Harkless though who I've always thought was pretty underrated even though people hate his contract.
  15. It doesn't seem like Kevin Smith has played in a few days. Did he pick up a knock?
  16. I feel like this happened earlier in the season as well. I wonder if its still the arm slot.
  17. Wow, that’s a well run draft class. Obviously, we have to wait a long time to grade the draft but signing everyone shows a level of management that I like.

Nobody knows anything with Leonard. Nothing seems to leak from his crew.
  19. It's not putting on a charade of anything. You are reading way too much into this.
  20. Pass away is just a way of saying someone died. Seems like a weird thing to be vexed about.

For sure. Which is his strength. He can defend 2/3/4 and on the minimum after a buyout that’s a great option

He’s been left wide open in every finals golden state have been in. He’s a terrible shooter and has been for a while.

Yikes, was away all weekend in middle of nowhere. Crazy start to free agency. Now to see where Leonard goes.. Also, saw on Reddit that iggy might be a buyout and a laker sign. So.. - Davis - lebron - Leonard - iggy - random shooter In a switch f***ing everything lineup would be extremely interesting.

I don’t think so either but it would be crazy. It would legitimately be the best big three ever in terms of talent and fit.

Also Davis is giving up his trade kicker so lakers absolutely have a max slot. Leonard would be crazy. That’s multiple rings.
