That price on Bird is insane. I think the yankees could turn him into at least a really good long relief and he has control. I f***ing hate that deal. He might even start.

Catchers are often underrated as prospects compared to the war they produce. really would have liked bird though.

Its possible that mlb gms like me are not super high on bednar.

Fangraphs like the second catcher in the bednar deal a decent amount. 45FV and quite young.

The pirates seem to get f***ed on trades a lot. Like even the good reports on flores makes it sound like he is first base probably.

The yankees are such a good pitching org, that pirates could fall in love with a couple of guys down the list.

Does Cashman have a 'tree' or does he come from another org? i always feel like its easier to make deals when you know there are orgs out there who value things similarily. Us and cleveland (and maybe oakland), tampa, dodgers, milwaukee..

The really scary thing about him is his in zone contact rate which is terrible. There are very few guys that bad who later became stars. edit: or what sliderguy said
