  1. Yea that what i was thinking. More games in Minnesota increases access. I guess losing boston does screw people in the maritimes though. The perfect Jays fan access division is toronto, boston, minnesota, detroit, seattle. Seems unlikely lol.
  2. I think chicago is slightly closer to the teams you have in the central than minnesota, but i agree its an awkward fit either way.
  3. I like the idea of jays, detroit, cleveland, minnesota. Makes sense geographically. Those three teams would be delighted because travelling jays fans would buy tickets. Our fan base just wants to win so losing the yankees/red sox home games wouldn't hurt us. Also, we would be the big money team in division. Just for personal reasons too, i loved going to games in Detroit when i lived in ontario.
  4. He's hanging breaking balls. One of the recent hits has been a knuckle curve below the zone but almost everything else has been a meat ball. Knuckle curves mainly, and one slider. There is probably some element of luck that they keep getting hit. Guys miss and foul off meat balls. I don't see why you wouldn't stick him in lower leverage so he can figure it out.
  5. This is very common. Boston do it as well. Teams are cutting 4 seam fastball usage everywhere pretty much as much as possible. When we signed him his breaking stuff was supposed to be good. After looking into it more, you can't really take fisher back up that soon so there is no real point sending him down to work on things. He is an absolute gas can though right now. Runs FOUR outings in a row is pretty unusually bad for any reliever. Probably unluckily bad. They need to essentially put him in the Nance spot. Give him lowest possible leverage and let him figure it out. I also figure that preserving the option is probably a good idea.
  6. This feels like one of those games. Tons of double plays and they find holes.
  7. Oof that felt like it could be a big inning, but maybe we can get out of it.
  8. That was a good knock, right at the fielder.
  9. Don't complain Jeff, you put that runner on.
  10. I said when did he give up runs three outings in a row.
  11. That does not look correct from game logs.
  12. When was the last time he gave up runs three outings in a row?
  13. He's been a good reliever for like months. This is an appropriate time in his career where he rotates down when he scuffles. He's not a vet. He has options. If you can send fluharty down or fisher down, you can absolutely send Varland down. I'm not sure how people got gaslit into thinking we traded for aroldis chapman or some elite guy.
  14. Fisher has been really good this year. Varland has not been for multiple outings now. If he has options,,, what is the problem? He can sort himself out by sept 1.
  15. Varland has options right? I can't really see how you can justify fisher in triple A and this guy in the show.
  16. Interesting video on Tong, Tolle and Yesavage. He's lowest on Yesavage essentially because all his pitches are arm side. I wish he would have went more into whether there was anything he could do to change that. He seems very high on Tolle.
  17. Schneider doesn't sound too worried in the post game interview.
  18. Mild strains can be just a few weeks. Bad ones could be months.
  19. Hope Vlad is ok, but otherwise just bin this one and move on.
