  1. If the board charges French Soup per post, they could probably eliminate the need for advertising revenue...
  2. The Giants have a s*** load of money... They can def still do more
  3. Don't let Sopa Francesa read that... He thinks he is the next Soto..
  4. I have been inundated with media about the Ohtani situation and had a few days to reflect. I live in the Bay area and they really thought they had a shot. I was hearing all the local media about Ohtani. Richest individual owner in MLB and needing to make a big splash, west coast etc. Being that I am in the U.S I am very exposed to the U.S media. Then I am part of this board and have of course followed the Toronto media and radio talk shows etc as well. From this perspective, I am convinced that Ohtani did not really want to come here. It wasn't about the Dodgers offering more money, he just wanted to play for the Dodgers and stay on the west coast in his Newport Beach house. FYI- Ohtani doesn't live in LA and does not need to move to have play at Chavez Ravine. We don't know if the Giants were right there with us or if even we were third or fourth in $$ offered. Regardless, he is not here, never was going to be and we missed out on Soto. Now we need to get to work on the trade market since the FA market sucks. Face it, we got blue balled and never were going to sleep with the Hottest chick. More like a Hooters waitress flirting with you for a big tip..
  5. Nice pick up by the Royals. Lugo was sneaky good last year and should excel at Kaufman as he did at Petco.
  6. Wow.. Vlad Jr won the HR derby at the Charity softball game. He got 2 HRs and 8 RBI's in the game. Was the winning manager also...Glad Vlad can win all the BS fluff competitions.. Now become one of the top 15 hitters in MLB and maybe I will want to keep you around as DH.
  7. I thought that is their commodity to obtain pitching... Hitters, specifically IF...
  8. Cincinnati is the way for me. Let's go to the auction house and get our self's a Steer! Yeee ha!
  9. https://www.google.com/search?q=google+tranlate+french+to+english&rlz=1C1VDKB_enUS1065US1065&oq=google+tranlate+french+to+english&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAE
  10. Putting Varsho in LF dilutes his value.. He is one of the best CF in baseball and his bat can play at CF, not LF.. I wouldn't want to do that, maybe vice versa...
  11. The Korean league has nowhere the pitching of the Japanese league.... Research the scouting and write ups the guy the Reds signed and Kim prior to him going to SD.. Kim is a good hitter, but nowhere near what people were foaming over prior to his signing.. The track record is not there yet for him to be a key piece we are going to rely on for offense.
  12. I am not interested in going to war (no pun intended) with a player from the KBR who has never had a MLB AB. The track record from Korea is much more mixed than Japan and that dude from the Reds and others are still fresh in my mind..
  13. I 90% guarantee you that it is an agreed upon deal from the Soto trade that was waiting for the 40 man crunch that came with Ohtani...
  14. While we have signed some high profile FAs, we have not yet won a H2H against the big boys in the past 20 years. If it is us vs LAD or Yankees and the player is their #1 target, we have never won that scenario. The Dodgers did not really want Ryu and hence we were able to sign him. I almost assure you, if the Dodgers really wanted him, he would have stayed there..
  15. I would do that in 5 seconds which is a quarter less time than Jim lasted on his wedding night.
  16. The Reds have a glut of IF, they will want pitching, not another IF.
  17. There was a very vocal crowd cautioning Texas about taking on that contract for a guy with a body type like PF. One thing to live a normal life with that body weight/type, another to perform as a high level professional athlete. Whether it be neck, knees etc, PF retired from baseball at 32 years old and was only really worth something until he was 30 give or take. There is no way in hell we should give Vlad a 10-12 year contract which is I am sure what it will take. There are teams right now who still think Vlad has tremendous upside. That with two years of control at an relatively decent amount is more valuable than a guy with one year who puts up the same numbers as this year and we shouldn’t plan to extend. Not to mention sub par D and base running.
  18. Vlad has more mediocre years than superstar. There is no sign he will get better and with his body type. He sucks on D at 1b and even if he comes into camp “in shape”, I don’t see him maintaining during the season. Casuals would be upset, but it would be better for the team long term and so we don’t try and move him in his final year where we get less value. Tough love for the good of the ball club.
  19. Trade Vlad while he has two years of control left. Very serious. Our best options for 3b and even OF are via trade. Sign Hoskins or trade Vlad to Mets for Alsono. Use FA to replenish any arms we might lose to trade. Vlad should not be in the conversation for an extension. Read about Prince Fielder.
  20. f*** those guys and their BS reporting and f***ing Reddit threads!!
  21. What an fnnnn let down.. We lose Ohtani and Soto… Blue balled too!
  22. Again for the 5th time, it was per JP as was by Sunday.
  23. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Have you read the past few pages?
