  1. Well, 28, which is not old as pitchers go. 2 yrs control I believe and making $ 1.3 M. He sure did look like a #2, #3 for the most part this year.
  2. Don’t agree with you on this one Sir. King is a controllable young #2-#3 SP and Grisham is a $4.5 million defensive replacement 4th OF at the moment. Thorpe close enough to Tiedemann so basically like us giving up Berrios, RT plus, plus..
  3. The reports have been pretty consistent that there will not be a decision made until 4-5 days from the start of the meetings or early next week. I wouldn’t be expecting anything today.
  4. I don't see them moving Musgrove.....
  5. The key to a Padres deal will also be cash. The only way to keep RT out of there will be by taking on an albatross contract like Cronos. You do that all day everyday to get Soto, especially since Crono can play 1b and 2b. I would like to see Vlad go the other way. We can’t have everything though..
  6. I hope this doesn’t end up like Conmor’s dating life metaphorically. Goes on a website, gets so many responses from chicks he doesn’t know how he will juggle them all.. He is on the ultimate high and sure his sex and dating life look bright. Then one by one they whittle away for whatever reason and Connor is left alone and wacking off to girlswithburkas.jizz
  7. Thorpe was the minor league pitcher of the year. Great second half. He is good.
  8. Sometimes I think we need a bit more of this with today’s superstars. Courtesy of now Hall of Fame manager Jim Leyland. ******Warning - Involves cussing if at work or around kids.******* Watch this video on Facebook https://fb.watch/oKZrQdVxMV/?mibextid=v7YzmG
  9. I live in the Bay area. apparently Ohtani was at Oracle park and spotted in San Fran area this past Saturday. Ohtani is making rounds… I think you guys should take a breath… Don’t want to lose any of you guys to stress.
  10. Isn’t he the f***er who blue balled us years ago with the Japanese pitcher…
  11. Ohtani’s team is going to give everyone a fair shot, especially if we are serious. Even if you really want to work at Apple you would probably still interview with Google etc..
  12. Do you guys have a Nobu in Toronto yet? Better hurry up and open one so you can check that box.
  13. Where is Chick-fil-A??? They are the undisputed #1. There is no other...
  14. Clark Schmidt pitched better than Manoah did this year and is a solid SP to keep you competitive in a game. The Padres are apparently asking for Thorpe, King and Schmidt, plus two other pitchers.. Insane high ask at the moment..
  15. All internal politics and personal opinions aside. AA became one of the best GMs in the fall/winter of 2014. It took him some trial and error to get to that point. We were probably a healthy Bret Cecil away from a WS birth... Point being he was a very good/solid GM before he went to the Dodgers, regardless of the level of Sabermetrics he applied to his decisions. He rightfully earned the name the Ninja prior to Atlanta and they even changed the claim and comp rules after AA pulled that awesome s*** with the Rockies catcher... AA had a better all around base to work with in Atlanta and he just continued on from what he started in late 2014.
  16. The scenario where we could have both Soto and Ohtani at least for a year is to move Vlad for Soto. I think we should move Vlad anyway... We are assuming he will be 2 years algo instead of the last 2 years, and then you have less control and less value. Vlad still has reasonable control to justify another team giving up significant assets and banking on the upside. Vlad sucks at 1b also, so probably be an addition via subtraction to the overall team.
  17. If you can use him to get Soto and as a result in the package you save RT. You do it all day everyday. He could just as easy be a Ricky Romero..
  18. We shoukd get something for Manoah, while we can. If we get a player like Soto for a year in our narrowing window. Adios Manoah…
  19. Well to make you feel better. An Ohtani signing would drastically increase all Rogers baseball assets. Including Team value, viewers, greater add revenue, butts in the seats, and their would for sure be ancillary rewards of people buying broadcast packages, maybe even more internet and cell services. For Rogers you could look at it as a 500 million (700 million CDN?) overall business investment and not just a baseball team investment. A player you could actually get an ROI on and not just by the team specific revenue streams.
  20. Except for foreign ownership rules, a saturated market and Japanese required to have a TV license for their TVs.. No way in hell Rogers could start broadcasting in Japan. What they could do, and not sure how much MLB takes from the trough, sell international simulcast rights to the Japanese for a much higher amount then they do now if that stream contains a Blue Jay/Ohtani game.
  21. This doesn’t make sense from a business perspective. What footprint or businesses or services does Rogers have in Japan that it could boost or enhance? Nothing that I can determine.. Rogers isn’t even in the US or Mexico let alone Japan.. I don’t see the business case…
  22. Looks like an Ohtani decision wont be until after the winter meetings but before the Christmas holidays according to latest report on MLBtraderumors.
