  1. I had already posted this weeks ago, on my cell and on vacation so not going to look it up again. However the Jays were the worst or tied for worst in RISP among teams that made the playoffs. Who gives a s*** how they ranked among teams that didn’t make the playoffs. They were also s*** with RISP the last few important series games of the season for the most part. Zero expectation something would change and the results bore that out.
  2. Yea... did I miss something?? What in the wide wide world of sports is going on?
  3. The term, a cold state player, is definitely a thing in the MLB draft.
  4. Why do Canadian pitchers always get hurt? Does it have anything to do with not pitching during the winter months when they are a kid/teen and then the increased work load or what?
  5. There is a theme with the Govt entities being f***ed up. I mean after the Raiders, Warriors and A’s have left in recent history there is a recurring theme.
  6. A Letter from John Fisher - Oakland Athletics November 16, 2023 Dear Fans of the Oakland A's, I know that today is a very difficult day with the vote by MLB owners allowing for the A's relocation from Oakland to Las Vegas. I share a lot of those emotions – sadness that our team will be leaving its home since 1968, pride in what we have accomplished together on and off the field in Oakland, but also hope and optimism about the future of the A's in Las Vegas. Since 2005, when Lew Wolff and I bought the team, we focused our efforts on developing a new privately financed stadium to position the A's for long-term, sustained success. From the beginning, I wanted to stay in the Bay Area which has been home to my family for generations and to the Athletics for over fifty years. Even before we bought the team, it was clear that the A's needed a new stadium, with the Coliseum being one of the oldest ballparks in the game and with huge repair and maintenance issues. We spent nearly all our time and effort exploring multiple locations in Oakland, Fremont, San Jose and then Laney College, the Coliseum and Howard Terminal in Oakland. For the past 2 ½ years, we also explored Las Vegas in parallel with those efforts. I fell in love with the history and community around the A's from the beginning of my affiliation with the team. I felt that I was in a unique position to succeed in building a new home for our team, which was critical to having a sustainable, winning team on the field for A's fans. However, after the last 6 years of working on keeping the A's in Oakland, the hurdles proved too great. We were unable to get a binding agreement from the City, with rising costs of infrastructure making it harder and harder for the city to pay for its part of the project, and organized opposition from maritime interests raising significant doubts we could ever get a stadium built. In May 2021, MLB gave us permission to explore Las Vegas as an alternative market out of concern for the rate of progress being made by the A's in Oakland. The need for a new stadium was reinforced in the 2022 Collective Bargaining Agreement between MLB and the Baseball Player's Association, which stated that the A's must have a binding agreement for a new stadium by January 2024 or lose revenue sharing. Despite our best efforts, including 6 years of work and $100 million spent on securing a stadium in Oakland, we came to the difficult conclusion that we would not be able to have a binding agreement with Oakland by the January 2024 deadline. The threat of a referendum delaying the process further confirmed that decision. I want to thank the Mayor's office, the Port, the City Council, the State, and most importantly A's fans and our own employees, who were all dedicated to trying to make this work in Oakland. I believe the collective motivations of everyone involved were honorable and I appreciate all the work that was done in support of this effort. I also understand their disappointment and frustration, and the desire in the media to place all the blame on me and the A's organization for the inability to make this work. All I can say is that we worked as hard as possible for 6 years to find a solution in Oakland. To our fans, I am truly sorry. While I know that today is a sad day, I hope that it is also the start of a new and bright future for the A's. Sincerely, John Fisher Athletics Managing Partner and Owner
  7. Caps are a hell of a lot better than I thought.
  8. The Cap’s goalie is good!!
  9. Get better bro. Gargle Listerine with alcohol. Works for everything. Have to have the alcohol to kill the bacteria though.
  10. Heading into the Caps game. I better see some fights. No acts of manslaughter though.
  11. The video I saw had multiple, multiple Canadians bent out of shape about it and slinging barbs in the comments. People had to tell them over and over it has nothing to do with Canada the country.
  12. 64 tickets

  14. Not sure if I have ever posted in here before. I just expensed $3400 USD on my corporate card for Caps vs Knights tickets tomorrow night for a Team activity at work. I haven’t been to a hockey game since the 80s, and haven’t watched but maybe portions of a handful of games since, primarily olympic games. Is there still fighting, like Don Cherry style in NHL hockey? I guess I will be cheering for Vegas.. Really I am just going for the work event and to drink beer. I did see in the news today that a bunch of Canadians were all upset that the Penguins fans were all chanting, “fire Canada”. The Canadians were saying, we will take our players back etc.. Dudes ( and Jim), they are talking about the offensive coordinator for the Steelers who’s last name is Canada…
  15. No, he is from TJ, across the border from San Diego.
  16. When did WE ever fleece the Cardinals?
  17. He has good hands and a rocket arm. I think part of the issue is he played so many positions. I think he played so many apart from catcher that he never had a chance to really work on one. Plus the Cubs didn’t have places for him to play on D and he had to sit out for stretches. He played 3b in the minors and I would prefer Morel at 3b or 2b over others I have heard bandied about. Morel appears coachable and I believe has the tools to improve. It had beeb circulating that the Cubs were going to make him available. However, today (after I posted) there is a news article saying the Cubs plan to make him their everyday 1b..??
  18. Jays should look into acquiring Morel in trade as a super utility 2b option. Cut bait on Biggio and Espinal or get what you can for them as part of a trade.
  19. Hoskins is a good hedge at 1b when we trade Vlad for Soto. Getterrr done Atkins!
  20. No QO for Teo either..
  21. When the Jays signed Semien, he had finished the last two months of the season with over a 1000 OPS. Semien was also thought of as great team mate and leader. TA absolutely phoned it in this year, basically quit some ABs it seemed. He is an attitude on and off the field and do not want him as part of our culture or influencing our younger players. Whom are apparently still very impressionable. I say hard no for the good of the overall TEAM.
  22. Hopefully they keep it at 26 and just reduce that amount of pitchers to 12.. Someone will say it will lead to more injuries with pitchers. So most likely nothing will change.
  23. I'm not that innocent....
  24. I like Neris in the Jays pen.
  25. How many times have I told you the players in many of these cities don’t live in them or near to the Stadium. The condos by Roger’s center is an exception. I don’t think many players actually live inside the city of Oakland, however the areas outside and around Oakland are super nice. Same with Baltimore and many other cities..
